Even when I take my anti-depressants regularly, I still have the odd wild mood swing, often set off by something small.

I'd rather have mood swings than be completely numb, but does anyone have any advice on how I can stop letting little things bother me so much?

Thanks

I don't know, but one possible approach is through Detachment, Recognition & Analysis (I'm sure the cognitive-behavioral professionals have their own way of describing this). The next time a "little thing" is bothering or triggering you, attempt to detach yourself from what's going on and recognize (or label) the event: "Little Thing X is bothering me at such-and-such a time in such-and-such a place with such-and-such a social context." Over time, build up a library of self-impressions and analyze them, with the help of a therapist or on your own.

No need to answer these questions to anyone but yourself. Just exactly what are these "little things?" When and where to they appear? Do you always react the same way or do you experience different reactions? Which "little things" can be avoided and which can't? Is it possible or realistic to develop different responses to these triggers?

No, this is not easy. I hope you can find some relief somehow. Feel free to vent.
