I feel like crap. It was all I could do to get out of bed this morning to go to school. The last two days have been pure terror for me. Monday night I was counting pills and I told my T this on Tuesday and he said well you should have called the emergency line. When I call them all they tell me to do is use my coping skills. UMMMMMMM if I could remember what they were I wouldn't be calling. I hate calling the ER line because they are so condesending its sickening. I am ready to throw in the towel with school because its getting really hard and I'm getting behind. I know I should be doing my homework right now but I think hey I have til Tuesday to get it done so I'll wait til Monday night and do it then. Then I'll be in a rush and not do it right etc. Right now life is crappy.

Hi Jbug. I read your post and thought "I know the feeling". Seems like such a crock. You see..we've got people... nurses, therapists, ER personel that have NO business doing what they do. Hmmm.. I don't know where they would fit in. But..it would not be in dealing with folks in crisis.
I have seen such incompetence in the medical profession. I am glad to be retired from it. I would never do it again for anything. Times have changed. And Nursing has changed too. But when ya get a good one that includes Pdocs..etc..you have a goldmine. Dedicated people are such unsung heroes!! Hang in there. It will get batter. ~Dottie

Mmmm... chocolate, I hope! ![]() ![]() ![]() I hope you can hang in there Janniebug. If you can't do your homework maybe if you are trying to think of coping skills you could write some of them down instead. It can be good to have a list of skills because when we need them the most they are usually gone from our thoughts... I know people who carry a list of coping skills with them all the time, just having the list sometimes gives them some comfort. Here's hoping you can find some more understanding professionals, and in the meantime, there is always us...

Hey g/f........I absolutely HATE it when I have to take Prednisone.......makes me crazy ! cant sleep, get the heebeejeebee's, eat all the time, etc etc. Unfortunately it is a necessary evil sometimes to be on it. I am so sorry you are feeling so bad and overwhelmed.
I do hope if you get to "counting the pills" point again, you WILL call someone ! Feeling that bad is no time to not have someone to talk to about it. I know that you have spoken so highly in the past of your T, can you call him in a crisis? Whew - I remember going back to college at the ripe ole age of 39 and wondering if I would make it ! Perhaps if you set a certain time each evening to at least TRY to work on assignments even if they are not due for a week, would prevent a rush job at the last minute. As someone else said - when you are feeling better, make a list of your coping skills. I carried mine around on a 3x5 card I laminated. It really really helped with my anxiety/panic issues ! Perhaps if you could pull out a list of things you know help you when you are feeling so bad, it would sorta "jump start" your memory on how you can deal with the bad feelings.
