Am I even worth the effort to men or even my family for that matter I spent my life being just a burden on my family and a piece of *** to men. I am tired of living like this. I thought I found someone to spend my life with but he is never there. I thought I could trust a friend of mine but he used me to get off. My friends are never there, my parents work all the time and my days are spent wondering if I would have been happier if I didn't date that one guy that changed my life for the worst forever...he took away everything and somehow I am still here.
Thanks for this!

That says a lot. You are tormented, yet you have survived. Something is keeping you going despite everything. Maybe that something will grow and eventually flourish.

Take your time. Feel free here.

Hi "Lost" ~ You BET you are worth it!!! God doesn't make junk, you know. So you got mixed up with the wrong person -- we've all done that at one time or another. I'm sure we've all wished we hadn't met someone or hadn't done something. I know I have some regrets. But we can't keep thinking about them -- we've got to learn from them so we don't keep repeating our mistakes.

I doubt your family thinks of you as a "burden." You are FAMILY. Family takes care of family.

And if friends didn't stick by you during a rough time you had, then I guess they weren't really "friends" afterall, were they. That's too bad. We find out who our TRUE friends really are when we're going thru a crisis.

Just take care of YOU -- once you start feeling better, the whole world will seem brighter. It CAN be a great life. God bless dearheart. Hugs, Lee
Thanks for this!

Hi LostInThought, I agree with all the previous posters, you are most definitely worth it, though I know it's difficult to cultivate or connect with that feeling and belief when you've been through what you have. Your sense of worth must be built up from within, and not measured by the actions and cruelties of others, and that's no easy feat, something I know too well also. Take it easy on yourself and give yourself some credit for recognizing your distaste at how you've been treated, and start constructing the necessary boundaries to protect yourself. That doesn't mean shutting everyone out, of course, but you have the right to be treated well and with respect.

I am glad you are here, LostInThought, and I hope you are able to find the comfort, solace, and kindness you deserve here, just to start. All the best to you, and yes, you are worth it.
Thanks for this!
