long overdue update and state of overwhelming deperssion

It has been a great while since I posted on this fourm, and I have had my reasons.. None of them will effect any of you ok.

I have gotten married, which most of you think ok whoopie, she should be happy, well I would most likely be happy if the state had not decided to take away all of the help I was getting for my child, when I got married.. I have lost all of my state aided child assistance and it has put me in a very fincial bind, to have to pay for her full time day care while I am in school, ** this had brought my deperssion back to the sufrace and I do not like that** a week after our wedding to boot the day before our hoonymoon too...

They have also decided to take away all of our foodstamps which takes food away from our mouths and yes I knwo I can go and get a job ,but when or if I drop below part time stauts in school I automatically get a huge student loan bill come due.. around the amount of $25,000 to start paying on.. No chance to pay that back with $480 a month in full time day care which jessica my daughter has to have. Then on top of that they are trying to take away my medical coverage and stop that too.. The only reason they can not do that is I applied for SSI, which I did not want to do, but I have no choice in my worldy goods anymore I hve to do things I no longer want to do to keep my head above waater I have to go back to work before I get my teaching degree, and give up on my education yet again.. Just to be a noramall..

Why do states do this to make us break when we are just starting to get our heads above water???

Sorry, I am just really down and I have no where to turn to.. and no one to talk to.. I feel lost and alone yet again..

I'm so sorry. Wow you are dealing with so much right now. Give yourself credit for doing the best you can for you and your family. I'm proud of you. It does sound like things are not going your way. I don't have any good advice in the financial problems, but I do hope you will stay in touch and keep talking to us. We care!

That all sucks LD I am so sorry to hear. What did they think now that you're married you have all money rolling in? Like maybe the possibility that you were on a tight budget even with your fiance didn't magically become like winning the lotto?

I really wish you well on your wedding!!! I have it on my calendar and I have been thinking of you. Are you able to at least enjoy being married? Did you enjoy the ceremony? Did everything come together that day?

Tell us about it... maybe it will help balance this bad news with some good.

I have applied for a federal work study posting online at school so maybe I can stay in school this term and hopefully maybe get schorlship?? I do not know if I even can get one of them since this is almost my last term at school? But I am going to try

I am so sorry to hear this....You may be able to get a forbarance (sp) on the student loan should it ever pop up on you..I know someone who keeps getting one now for and its been 7 years of it ....Also can you apply for off beat grants and loans? like Tylonal use to and most likely still does have a grant they give .....Still you are getting the shaft....I know I fall through all the cracks

I'm sorry that you've lost all those financial support. They really do add up. Does your hubby's job help compensate for that? Am thinking of you.

(((dragon))) I was wondering about some of this prior to your wedding, but back then you were either very happy about it happening or already anxious enough I didn't want to suggest anything contrary. IMO state help is just for that... getting ppl like you on your feet until you can function... and that it often is pulled too soon, causing the ppl to end up worse than they could be. I hope things will balance out for you...

I am not really that bad off, it is just a derpssivie day when I wrote this and now that other things are starting to happen we could use the food stamps tohelp compenstae for extra mouths..

but that is ok..

I don't know if you are at University or College but here University help to pay for Daycare. You might want to check on this one.

I know you are fighting hard to get your degree and I surely hope for you that you can get it.
