Just five minutes ago I was babysitting and the father came home and said the person I job share with wants to go full time and take my hours, and that he said they were really tight with her and sorry they couldn't have told me sooner. I had dreams of staying with this family until the kids grew up. Now my dreams are broken. I feel like crying. Not to mention I barely have enough money to get by on.

I'm so sorry that this is happening to you! I know sometimes that we have to expect these kind of changes, unfortunately. It sounds like you are very close with the children. Is there any way you can visit them on a weekly basis? Just a thought.

Hang in there. We're here for you.

Junerain,

I'm really sorry about your job loss. I hate it when things suddenly change, and there is no warning.
Just have to believe you'll find something even better.

Best wishes,

Jane

this must feel terrible! Sigh. As with all things, try and take care of yourself with this, allow yourself to "mourn" this loss. Then, maybe you can learn something good from it..and move on. ((hugs))

Oh Junerain, been there done that. Kids I lived in and looked after were as much a part of me as my arms. I was with one family for 10 years, from babysitting to living in..... I left them on the east coast 33 years ago and still feel the loss as acutely as it happened yesterday. Wonder who they grew up to be, etc etc etc.
The good news is, somebody else has kids who need you too.
I hope this loss opens a door to something better for you .
