Just curious what you guys find are the positive signs that your depression is lightening up or lifting.
My major depressive episode last year seemed to lift pretty quickly in the course of 2 or 3 days but I can't remember exactly what it entailed. I ask because today I woke up only minorly anxious/depressed, then had a fairly level day. Now tonight I feel worse than earlier today, but its a weird kind of soft down feeling. Its almost like my depression wants to go at it hard but doesn't have the energy. The scary part is that i've had some days in the past week that were either mostly very good or mostly very bad, and today I had a day that was mostly okay, and I dont even know how to judge that haha. Any thoughts, opinions, or experiences with that? |

it's nice to hear that your depression is losing it's "fight" for you. I feel like the depression keeps fighting with me but lately I don't have the strength to fight back. I'm tired. the constant fight is wearing me down and my life is such that it keeps beating me up and I keep letting it. I've switched meds and I am feeling the good days/bad days. this week it's been mostly bad days.
it means you're getting stronger which is awesome! are you on meds to help you fight the good fight?

I certainly am. I take 200mg Zoloft once a day, but that started only about a week ago. Before that it was 150mg Zoloft, but after a minor throat infection the antibiotics apparently messed with my blood levels. I also take .25mg Klonopin twice a day once in the AM and once before bed. I was on .5mg Klonopin in the AM only but morning anxiety isn't really helped by taking your meds AFTER you wake up. As for you being tired of the fight, my therapist says sometimes when we are tired of the fight we need to stop fighting for a day or two. If stopping the fight makes you suicidal then of course don't go that far, but what about taking a day where you don't do all the mental work you do everyday. If you don't have a busy day why not take a day where you say "well im gonna feel like crap all day maybe, but im gonna feel crappy while reading a book, going for a calm walk, or watching some brainless TV. Ill be back for you tomorrow depression."
