Hello, I am new to this site. I have had different times of depression off and on for years. I currently have been depressed for at least 4 months. For me that means I don't leave the house much, I don't talk to my friends, I sleep as much as possible, I just feel numb, really. It is really hard for me and a lot of times I don't know who to talk to about it. I do see a therapist and am taking medication. Looking for extra support.

Hi marjique and welcome to PC. You will find you are not alone in how you feel. I know exact ally how you feel. I was diagnosed with severe depression in 2000 and my life was pretty much as you described for the longest time. Even now I find I still have those "dark" times from time to time - in fact I am in one now Keep working with the therapy and share as much or as little as you want here. There are many great people on here.

Hello & Welcome, Marjique! Is this your first experience with therapy and medication? How is the treatment, or is it too soon to tell?

Welcome Marjique,
I know I can sure relate to you. I have physical depression as well as mental depression, was diagnosed over 12 years ago. Sometimes it is hard to even sit up or get dressed, but if you can you may find that much does help a bit. I'm so glad you found this site, seems to be very supportive.
