Hi,

I just moved into a supportive living facility for the blind. I did this in part to give myself the structure I feel I need to have a healthy life. When at college I had such a hard time getting to meals and getting things done, I'd just want to sleep or do nothing. This would happen especially when I was overwhelmed or stressed.
So now I'm here where there are very kind staff around if needed, and lots of activitys and outings and things to do. I met with my "care advocate" who happened to be the activitys director, who kept emphasizing that the activities and things for me to do are there I just need to get myself to go to them. Like go for walks, get to meals ETC.
Anyone else have a problem doing these things. I often feel like it's so hard to drag myself out of bed in the morning. Sleeping is just so much easier.

I am not blind, but in all other aspects, you are not alone.
Once I wake up, that first step feels like quick sand that I drudge thru most of the day. This happens most days, not all but most. It gets soooo old.

Hope you're getting more acclimated to this new living facility.
Maybe having more structure & activities will help.

me 100 %

I have hard time getting out of bed. And little things will make me depress. I have hard time shower (well I don't need to go out to see anyone)

I used to be under constant pressure and turmoil, which made everything, even the simplest things like getting up and getting ready for the day, a struggle. Even when the stress was removed, I still felt stressed. It was when I started realizing I didn't have that constant nagging stress that I started feeling a little bit better. Give yourself some time to relax into your new surroundings and then add activities a bit at a time and I think you will start enjoying your life more.
