I've suffered most of my life with depression. I feel like I've been in a dark place all week. I'm on a good medication regiment and just don't understand what's so bad in my life at this present time. I want to feel better.

Sorry to hear that Redom8 what meds are you on just because your on meds doesn't mean they are the right ones. I have gone through many trying to find the right one. Or maybe you need some talk therapy that helps alot of people. I hope your feeling a little better today.

Dear Redom8,

I hear you loud and clear. I have been on what my Dr. considers an adequate medication regime but I've still been depressed for the last six weeks. I keep waiting for the meds to change my brain chemistry but to no apparent avail. Maybe jlmass is right - we could need a med change or just someone to talk it out with. Hope we find our way out of the darkness soon. Blessings and hugs.

I feel there's gotta be a reason I'm depressed. I try to nail it down in therapy but I really still don't know what triggers it.

I know that dark place...I've been here for about 4 months now. Wanting to feel better is a good place to start. Personally, I'm waiting for that day when the medication really starts to do its trick. Until then, I'm spending time here for support and getting some regular talk therapy. I am hopeful that all of us here find some way out of the darkness.
Thanks for this!

Hi Redom8....So sorry to hear you're in a bad place, and I hope some relief comes your way soon. So....just a thought to ponder: You say that you're on a "good" medication regimen. Well, there are many different meds ~combinations of meds out there, and the trick is for your doctor to try various ones out until (hopefully) something works for you. Can be tedious, but it's just the way it is when dealing with this depression thing. So, in other words, while a certain regimen might be "good" for some people, that does not carry out to be the solution for everyone. And btw, I've been there Sending good thoughts and wishing you all the best.....
