Don't know why I'm posting this. Just feeling telling what is in my head. I have recurring thoughts from my entire life of moments when I felt like I made an idiot of myself.
I have a whole catalog of stories from my life which will pop in my head at any moment. They are all painful. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD |

I have similar experiences, unfortunately. Often the thoughts are accompanied by a spontaneous scream or gasp. In my case they pass quickly, but I've not found anything to prevent them. It is possible the meds (antidepressant and mood stabilizer) keep them from happening more often, but, as it stands, these are daily events.
In my case, I started experiencing these thoughts after the onset of depression. Hidesad, have you discussed this with any doctor or counselor? Did they have an opinion about these types of intrusive thoughts?

Intrusive thoughts could be an OCD thing. Which is an anxiety thing- which often go hand in hand with depression.

Do you have a therapist you could talk this over with. Like Miswimmy said, this could be an OCD type thing, and you would need a therapist to help you deal with this.
If you don't have a therapist, I'd suggest you make an appointment with a good one. I wish you the very best -- please take care and God bless. Hugs, Lee ![]()

I don't know about ocd but I do know depression. Since these scenes are of when you feel you made an idiot of yourself it sounds to me like you have very low self-esteem. That's a very nasty side-effect of depression. Please try to get counseling, you are so worth it.

You are correct. I struggle with low self esteem. My entire mood revolves around what I believe people think of me. I do have a therapist who I have been seeing for the past ten years and he has been extremely helpful.
I've been going thru a really bad stretch lately and I'm looking for answers. I made an appointment with a psychiatrist next week. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD |
