I'm so frustrated with my job which has been causing me crying spells. My manager is in over his head and unqualified for the position. He comes to me for everything at the last minute. I work 55 to 60 hours a week. Late nights because of his inability. He completely takes advantage of me. I've tried in the past talking to him but it does not help. I'm currently looking for a new position on a different department.

Does your supervisor have a supervisor? If so, then I would ask for a meeting. If not, then you are doing the best thing by trying to transfer to another position somewhere else. I hope it gets resolved for you soon. Good Luck!

Are you paid for overtime? if not, then I would just work my 40 hours, and that's that. If things don't get done, who's fault is it? You are covering for your supervisor!!!
You cannot do it ALL. There comes a point where you have to just say, I cannot do it ALL. It's either ME or THEM. This is about your mental health and your bodily health! ![]() ![]() Don't let him take advantage of you, and that's what he's doing. Take your POWER BACK AND use it. God bless and please take care! Hugs, Lee ![]()

I don't have the overtime issues, but I can understand you're frustrations about an inept manager. Mine makes things toxic and everything harder.
I hope you can get a transfer, for your health's sake. Otherwise is there an HR or Union rep you can talk to about it? |

Wow... I don't know what to say. I just want to let you know that I read what you said and I'm thinking about it. I don't have it that bad off at my workplace but it is stressful enough to me that I feel like quitting sometimes, even if I can't find anything else.

Thanks everyone. Fortunately I have a good reputation in the company so I'm just waiting my time until I can transfer to an open position.
The unfairness of it all really bothers me. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD |

I posted a couple weeks back about my frustration with work. Well for my own self esteem I feel like I made some progress. I sat with my director (my boss's boss) Friday afternoon. It was a calm day and I asked if I could talk to him and get some things off my chest. I didn't specifically mention my boss but I did say I was burned out and frustrated. I told him every day I wonder what assignment what suddenly be my responsibility and due in an hour. It felt good because he acknowledged my feelings and said he has recognized the issues and it is his job to address them (side note. He has only been in the role for a few months.) whether he does or not I don't know but it felt good to sit down and tell him.

I'm glad you stand up for yourself, you've done all you could do and now just wait for the director's action, hope he would really do something, usually a new boss would have all new plans in his head to restructure his department/company, to show his value to the company, so very likely he will do something about it. Cross fingers.
I had similar experience like you, end up I just handed out my finished works to the others directly instead of my supervisor, let others know that these were MY works, not hers. In the end they just skip my supervisor and directly give me works ![]() |

Hi there everyone!
Jobs, why do we even have them? We've all got our reasons, but I know in the least that jobs should bring out our full potential. But you know, some jobs are like hell, especially when you're not the boss of you're own. Sometimes we worry about things that we don't even have direct relationships with, these things are just handed to us by others. Well, It's nice to hear that you managed yourself professionally. ![]() |
