You know those times when your not nuclear depressed but just kind of a low level stasis type of depression, where you just don't feel like doing anything.

What are some ways you use to break out of that "stuck" feeling.

I have been trying to meditate, walk my dog, eat, watch movies and nothing gives.

Do you have anything that helps in this situation. I mean at this point i would stand on my head if it would help......hold on i'll be right back.

Nope, didnt help. now my neck hurts though.

Do you have friends you can go out with? Sometimes being around people takes my mind off of the blahs and then my mood is lifted a bit. Especially if it is more of the low grade blahs as opposed to major depression stuff. Often I just have to wait it out and keep trying the coping strategies until it improves. Sounds like you are doing the right things, but unfortunately no relief yet... Hope that changes soon, and that you neck feels better.

Sorry about your neck. It's hard to motivate yourself to do anything that might help you perk up. Do you have a hobby that you can work on or call an old friend you haven't talked to for a while. Hope you get better soon.

Music often helps me, especially if I play it loud. Seems to be a little energizing. If I stay calm, the blah remains. I just avoid the sad songs in my collection.

Quick update,

First of all, i love you guys. Thanks for the input.
Today the blah's have slid into a full blown depression. I just want to scream.

Dailyhealing: Mental illness has seperated me from all my friends but i have been checking out meetup.com to try and get out more. I am also gonna sign up for a tai chi class. Isolation...is a problem for me.

jelly bean: I do study and practice magic as a hobby. Lately i just have no interest. Hmpf..maybe i'll read through some of my old books i haven't touched in a while.

Tru_Butterfly: Music does help! Funk music always makes me feel good, in fact im gonna listen to some right now.

This forum is helping my sanity, for sure.

Thank you
