Have been taking medication for depression for about a year now. Has help some but still fighting it. Therapy didn't really help. Keep getting kicked in the head. Wife just lost her job, I will be loading mine in a month. The depression is in part to blame. Kind of a self-full filling prophecy. The light is dining and and can see no way out. How do you stay up and positive, going to a job every day that you know no matter what you do you're going to be fired and can't support your family.
Thanks for this!

Oh Lord, I know how hard it is. This economy sucks and there's no relief for anyone!

Have you talked to your doctor about the fact that the meds don't seem to be doing the job? All you might need is a raise in dosage. That might be the problem. After we're on a medication for awhile, we kinda get almost "immune" to it and we have to have a higher dosage or else be switched to something else. This has happened to me sevral times. i've been on an antidepressant for probably 40 years. So believe me, I know how it feels when it quits working like it should.

Talk to your doctor. See what he can do about it. As far as the job goes, talk to your boss. See if he knows of someone who is hiring right now. He MIGHT know of someone who needs some help! You'd be smart to talk to him before anyone else does. Get an "in" on any jobs before someone else thinks about it.

Best of luck -- I hope you find something soon. God bless and please keep us posted, will you? Hugs, Lee

I think you find a new job.

You've got skills, you're a good worker and its not your skills that are getting you laid off.

I don't think its natural to want to work hard during that situation unless you have some other kind of motivation.

I've heard that medication is not nearly as effective as medication and therapy. You probably just haven't found the right therapist yet. I know that it is costly and I hope you can find someone who will help match you with the right person.

Best wishes.

Not sure what to do. We lost our insurance with the wife's job. Sleeping during any free time I have. Even pulling away from things that bring me joy. Also kind of my own worse enemy, minor in physiology, so think I know what the doc will say. Not an option now with no income. Just feel sick all the time, to ashamed to face even friends or family. Thanks for the responses.
