I lost around 50 pounds in the past year due to depression (went from 195 lbs to 145 lbs)
We were having a bunch of family members over that I hadn't seen in several months and they all commented on my weight loss, asking what I did and whatnot. It made me feel so uneasy because, really, what am I supposed to answer? I literally did nothing. I spent months barely eating and staying in bed all day... I never worked out or dieted and I couldn't bring myself to lie. I just wanted them to shut up about it and let me be. |

At times when I can't eat, ensure will sometimes go down more easily. I like the chocolate, but there are other flavors as well. It eliminates the need to search in vain for something on the shelf or in the fridge. Since not eating can make you feel worse, its worth trying. Its best cold. For some reason, our society says its ok to talk to someone about the weight they have lost, but its taboo to talk about weight that people put on. Its really no one else's business, and they never seem to think that it may be an unwanted loss, or a loss that you weren't trying to get rid of. Be firm. Thank them and move on or tell them that you really don't want to talk about it. Sam2 |

This happened to my mother-in-law one day when she was having a bad day. Someone asked her how she lost so much weight, she replied bluntly, I got cancer. Shut them right up!

I recently lost a bunch of weight myself. It started off as intentional, but I was getting so depressed and stressed during that time, that I ended up losing more than I wanted. I looked sick and some people thought I had cancer becasue i looked so bad and lost too much too fast. But others thouhgt it was great that I was so skinny--even if I looked bad. It's been about a year and I did gain about 20 pounds back (after losing about 120), but people are still going on about it, wanting to know my secret and I am tired of it.
