Hey Nan,

I wish I had the right words to say to make you feel better. I'll send you a virtual hug instead. . . . And please don't be crashing into anymore cars. I know you're hurting inside, but try reaching out to us before it gets suicidal--just like you're doing now. Are you seeing a therapist? How's it going?

Hello Nan: I'm so sorry for your plight. I'm "flabbergasted" that you're back to work so soon. I've made a couple of serious attempts. Following the last one, I don't think I was out of the hospital much prior to 4 weeks post attempt.

This must be extremely difficult for you. Clearly you must have some serious difficulties in your life to want to kill yourself. So to already be back to work, must be incredibly difficult! Are you on psych med's? Do you have a therapist? I hope you're getting some kind of assistance to help you through this difficult time.

Unfortunately, about all we can do here is to provide some anonymous support & perhaps some suggestions as to how to proceed. But sometimes writing about your situation, & reading others' replies can be quite helpful. So please keep posting. My best wishes to you...

I don't know what is making you suicidal but I'm sending good vibes. Expressing your feelings to others helps a lot or even just writing it down. Also, if you're not seeing a therapist, you should. It helps a lot too. I also hope you know that even if we've never met people care about you. Best wishes!

Thanks everyone. I am on meds and seeing a therapist. It does help to talk about it anonymously. Thanks for listening...

I am also baffled at how you can be working so soon especially if you are still struggling. Have you had big improvement since the attempt? I can't do it unless I am almost completely out of the depression or at least in mild to moderate. I do good at work when working so it is not a big trigger for me. Is work a trigger for you?

Very glad you are getting help and I hope treatment is successful. I know how hard treatment is.

Zinco- I have not had a big improvement but work takes my mind off my problems. However it is becoming very stressful. I am off today and just resting.

Hi nan709. Sorry you are struggling so much. It's good that you took a day off of work to rest. After a recent suicide attempt, I think it's important to take good care of yourself. Feel free to PM me anytime if you'd like. I'm going through a serious depression as well, so much so that I'm unable to work at present. Glad you are posting to let your feelings out.

Thanks for reaching out to us. Are you safe right now? Please talk to someone about your feelings. Suffering alone is dangerous. Big hug.

I am so thankful you are safe and you let us know. At work, whenever I would get sad or upsetting thoughts, my co-worker and I would say together, "but right now, you're okay." That brought me into the present moment. Maybe you could say, "I am feeling very sad but, right now, I'm okay." If anything, it acknowledges your pain and gives you a brief pause from whatever negative thoughts or ideas were connecting in your mind. This is just something that really helps me (if I remember to use this!). Another big hug to you!

Dear Nan709: know this is a little late, wanted to send you some support, if it is still needed. Hope things are better for you today - also admire your ability to work despite depression. Know that structure helps me, too - I also find work a great distractor.

Take care - Bolivar

Thanks Bolivar and Momentofclarity- today has been a really bad day. Need any hugs and support out there. Should have been a good day - beautiful beach day bit sadness is pervasive. My husband has no idea how to deal with this and I am thinking he will be better off without me..

Dear Nan709: so glad you posted, here! Sorry to hear that things are still tough. Some of my friends also at a loss when I am depressed - if you don't suffer from it, it can be difficult to imagine how tiring/rough it is to deal with.

Sending you support and hugs - please tell what would help most!
