...I was just flat out obviously "crazy"--then people might stop getting so mad at me all the time.

What's the reason for their anger, Shortandcute? Can you put your finger on what
it is that triggers their anger? If so, you might be able to help. Don't forget that it might just be a problem they have and not yours! Take care. |

I looked at your profile, and a lot of the things you have been cursed with are things that people seem to have little patience with. With pain issues, after a while, people get tired of your limitations, or even think its a made up excuse.
Going through abuse and rape is something that you need to talk about. Thats natural and probably helpful for you, but there again, after a while, no one wants to hear it anymore. Its not something you just "get over" or "put behind you", without a great deal of work and help. When you need to talk about something and you get an anger response or the old roll the eyeball deal, it starts to be something that you internalize. No one wants to be punished for being a victim, but in a sense, that is exactly what is happening. Its hard not to get angry at people for ignoring your needs or just blowing them off. Depression kicks in, and then you are called lazy. Try to keep in mind that your problems were not someting you wanted or asked for. They are things that happened to you and were out of your control. Come here instead when you want to vent. No one will get upset with you here. If you were "crazy", you would probably not like it. Instead of people getting annoyed with you, they'd just lock you up or drug you. I guess since we can't change the way people react to our problems, all we can do is learn to be empathetic of others and steer clear of those who don't have any patience. Sam2 |

I agree with Sam. And sometimes when we're depressed/upset, people get upset with us because they just plain don't understand and they think we're "putting it on." They think we're acting like that to get attention!
![]() We really ARE upset and depressed! The things that happened to us cause trauma --- we can't help what we "are." We need some semblance of support and we don't get it. Sweetie, what you need is therapy. If there is any way for you to get it, please go. ![]() I wish you the very best. God bless you and please take care of YOU. Hugs, Lee ![]()

I agree with Lee, I saw my therapist today and she was very helpful, especially in helping me see patterns in my behaviour and thoughts that I generally never can!

Thanx for the replies. My three older sisters get really irritated at me. One of them gets real snappy because she pushes herself so hard--but then she is always in pain, always falling apart, always getting sick and makes it hard for others to be around her. My very oldest sister has also struggled with depression and now she is also trying to push herself, but then the same thing is happening to her that is happening to my other sister. They all think that I'm just lazy, unmotivated, not wanting to be involved with the family, etc. (What they don't seem to remember is that I was the one who was always bullied by my siblings--not my 2 youngest sisters, but my other sisters and brothers, and I'm the one who's always on display at family get togethers.)
