Hi there i have been struggling with mental problems for 18 months now and am insure what is wrong with me. It started off by feeling like i had cheated on my fiance. At the time we had set things in motion to get married, set date started planning etc. then my mind started to tell me that something could still go wrong and then that i had cheated. This has spiralled and now i also have severe ocd with it. Everyday in my mind i feel i need to go over and over the past few days because something wasnt right, i go over what i had for breakfast, tea, etc what time i went to bed what time i got up. At its worst i feel like i didnt even sleep in the same bed as my partner and have to know who i said a certain thing to.

I am currently going 10/11 days where i am fine and 5/6 days where i sm at my worst and feel horrible. Guilty upset unsure unhappy. Can anyone at all empaphise with this? It drives me crazy when i am at my worst?

Hello & Welcome, Madnax! From your other post:

You apparently are suffering from multiple issues, and you are wisely addressing them in multiple ways including meds and therapy. Unfortunately, you are still suffering.

Have you made it clear to your doctor and therapist that you are not improving? Is your partner supportive?

It sounds like your anxiety is acting up, but it is not out of control because you always have the possibility to take control of your emotions. You will probably need the help of meds and therapy-- which you made clear from a post that you are doing. So my advice-- hang in there!!!! It feels like a roller coaster right now and it will be draining, but it isn't going to always be that way.... You have a bright future ahead of you-- so don't let this rough patch get you down.
Thanks for this!

Good. Changing meds can mean mood turbulence. You'll have to give the sertraline time to work.

Depression and anxiety - yes; the kind of obsessive thoughts you describe - no. You may need to speak with a counsellor who specializes in OCD. You might be able to gain some insights from the OCD forum.

Keep your dr. informed of ALL your symptoms. It sounds like you have several issues going on. Good for you that you are dealing with them.
Meanwhile let your new med kick in and keep posting. Let us know if it works. Just know that there are many many meds available. Something will work.
I hope you feel better soon.

& do talk with your fiance if you aren't. sounds like setting the process towards marriage in motion has triggered much anxiety (and it would normally, it is a big deal, especially if you are going through all the planning and anticipation, all the what ifs and what thens,,,,) ---- it is a lot to deal with.

wanting to go over and over things in your mind is the ocd spiralling out of control. You need to talk to your fiance its not fair on her you. I wish you all the best and hopefully you will find a way out of your torment.

i don't want to be like "i know wassup with you", but it's kind of obvious in this case. I don't know much about you, but you really need to face yourself in this question. Obviously you're not ready to marry this girl. sometimes it's not the meds, but thinking clearly that helps.
