I'm not in the best place at the moment and my distractions are pretty bad, so I was wondering what all of you find good for a distraction and how well it distracts you.
I teach dance and love music but for me they aren't distractions, they're ways for me to express how I'm feeling and sometimes I want to just get away from that for a little bit!

Some people tell me that distractions are just things to delay confronting your feelings and maybe they are but I don't want to always be thinking about that sort of stuff. :/

When I was really bad distractions literally saved my life. I would get so exhausted from what I called " the squirrel cage", the constant round of thoughts, that distractions let me get a little rest. Sometimes I'd be able to see the thoughts in a more abstract way and that would help me distance myself from them. Distractions are good.
I like hidden object games and TV. Reading is good for me too. Casual games can grab your attention and give your mind something else to focus on. Plus they're pretty easy to play.
Good luck

My favorite distractions ae reading a mystery novel by a good author or playing mindless computer games. Both really pass the time if time is dwelling on your mind and you need to get away from it.
