I have a meeting (work related) in an hr and 10 mins.
I am unsure if it's anxiety or amotivation, or even just exhaustion as yesterday I ran on 5 hrs sleep that's making me not want to go. I said I would attend.. Parts of me wants to go... I just got up and I'll have to rush to get ready, and I'm not even sure if at this point if I have to take the bus or if my partner can drive me..... Ie I'm also at risk of being late and I dislike all eyes on me entering a meeting late. Crap, this feels stupid to talk about. I just feel torn. I can see that if I don't go I'll likely beat myself up for the day. Ahhhhh needing encouragement please! |

Oh dear god, I know this feeling. Talk about STRESSFUL.
7 times out of 10, I can't force myself into it. Once I decide not to go, I am relieved, but then I have to deal with the HORRIBLE guilt. Most times, it is not worth the guilt alone, not to even mention the consequences of having to catch up on what I missed. However... Those few times that I can manage to get my ***** moving... I freak out the entire time getting there. It even takes me 10 minutes of deep breathing once I am there to settle down enough to figure out what is going on. But once I am there, and in the moment.... I have no idea why I was freaking out in the first place. I even end up being proud of myself that I can contribute!! Even if you just show up, you will feel better (EVEN if you are late). They wouldn't have asked to you be there if you weren't a helpful member of the team. Your input matters. If you really can't manage it, you and everyone else will survive. It won't end the world. But maybe, it could change your day. ![]() |

Oh, please go!
It's so tremendously good to get out, and being pushed (through having a meeting) will get you there. I don't like being late, either, but probably people won't be sitting talking and then stare at the door accusingly...that's in your head. For all they know there could have been traffic due to a car accident...or anything out of your control...... I agree with exhaustion messing with how you feel, but I'm sure once you start, adrenaline will see you through and help you focus on an important task..which is great really. Plus it's not an all day thing. Get in there, say what you need to, then say adios. When you get back you can reward yourself and you'll have a sense of accomplishment. So you are motivated to go, plus you get chocolate afterwards. |
