LOL, a 77 is stratospheric depression -- 54 and above is "severe depression."

Bless your heart (((((((( candybear)))))))..

I struggle with depression, but I have not scored that "high" in the depression quiz. Although I am not far behind you.. Am in the 60's range. Depression sure stinks...Depression sure can take the "sparkle" and/or "smile from our eyes. I keep running about the house with this fake smile on my face, hoping the chemicals or whatever they are, starts making the smile real... I read that somewhere..Isn't working as of yet tho... I do get remarks about what is that silly grin about.. but I won't tell.. smile

Have you thought about getting a small pet.. A dog, or a cat, or even a bird. I find when I am feeling low that snuggling with my son's pug helps make me feel a lil better. And of course dogs give "unconditional" love.. I love having the dogs around, except when I happen to step in a pile of dog poo, which I didn't see.. ewwwwwwww .. that wakes me up big time too. lol

My landlady won't let me have a dog or cat, and you can't cuddle birds. I've been thinking about a bunny, though. How many people are allergic to bunnies?! (Her reasoning is, the next person who moves in might be allergic.)

I like my bunny, but she doesn't cuddle (yet?) WHEEEEEE, a new record! She's like a siamese cat imo, only gives me attention when SHE wants to.

Don't worry too much about your depression inventory score... mine hasn't been below 87 in years... usually 89 or 90 and I'm still around... though it does show how miserable you're feeling WHEEEEEE, a new record! Any movement on the inventory of 5 or more points is significant, so take extra time to do self care... things you would normally feel guilty about doing for yourself (time, money or whatever involved) and just get through this dark time.

WHEEEEEE, a new record!

But you can't pick up a birdy and put it in your lap and pet it! I want something warm and fuzzy.

I'm better than you are, I scored 85 in that test LOL
And about the pet: try a guinea pig, they are recommended for allergic people who want a pet, they cause hardly any problems and they are very nice. My friend is allergic and she had her guinea pig for years. I don't think your landlady should have anything against you keeping one.
