Hi
I'm Chris
I don't come on here much.
I'm feeling quite depressed today. Not to sure why. There are a few things bothering me but I shouldn't be this bad. Just feel like I want to cry. I'm on quite alto of medication 40mg of citalipram. I just wanted someone to talk to really.

Hi Chris,

Sorry you're having such a down day. It's like that sometimes. Did you go outside today? Maybe a long stroll might help, if you haven't tried already. Or maybe an action movie. Or maybe just sharing what's on your mind.

Hi Chris! I'm right there with ya. I'm quite depressed today myself and not sure why. I did just get back on Lexapro 3 weeks ago and have been trying to fight the depression but today is the worst. I have felt like crying for most of the day and actually just finished a crying spell. I haven't cried like that in years!

I hope this Lexapro does it's job soon. I'm on 10mg, since this is a new med I'm not sure if it's a lot or not. I used to take Celexa too and it worked really well for me, I was on 20mg of that before I tapered off.

Now I just want to talk to somebody to get this off my chest, maybe it will make me feel better. Hopefully it will! I've still got one more day of work to get through this week. Sigh.

I'm sorry you are feeling so bad I've had a walk today I took my nan out in the wheelchair which was nice. It's just so frustrating that I am taking so much medication and still getting so depressed at times for no real reason. I mean work is bothering me a bit but it is not that bad I shouldn't feel so depressed. I am looking for a new job. I think things that are bothering me bother me a lot. I'm seeing a psychotherapist soon so hopefully she can help me deal with things more.
By the way where in North Carolina do you live? I went there in 2005.

Could be that you might need a change of meds. I was on 40mg citalopram for about a year... and then things just took a massive nose dive; they essentially stopped working.

Perhaps speak to your doctor about it... hopefully, it will get you back on track.

I know the feeling. It's good that you are seeing a therapist. I see a phycologist but I don't know if it's helping much. I haven't talked about my depression much because it hasn't been too bad, but it all seems to hit at once. Its weird like out of the blue I go from ok to depressed in the blink of an eye.

Agreeing with Toejam here. Plus the stress of work can at times affect our mood or severity of our depression without us realizing it. I had that experience a few years back. It's good that you're seeing your doc soon. Being more familiar with your case, she can hopefully shed some light on your meds etc.

If you like action movies, maybe you can try watching one. I find that sometimes the adrenalin rush helps shift my mood I try all kinds of things to fight my depression; so forgive me if the advice seems a little out of the box.

I'm very open to all sots of suggestions that may help with depression no matter how odd the may seem. As it is I think you have a point. I find it is helpful to watch a bit of TV. It is relaxing and totally non stressful.
To be honest I have felt a lot better since have come on here and talked about it

I'm sorry you were having one of those days. Mine was yesterday.
I took a long hot shower. Meditated for a while. Took a very long walk with my dog.
And spent some time watching movies that make me laugh and take me away from my own issues.
I was grateful that today was the first day of Spring, sunny and seasonable- and one day closer to the weekend.
I hope you feel better soon, too.

Unfortunately I am struggling a bit today. I don't know what is going on but my mood is so low and as soon as I try to do something I get completely overwhelmed.

Ay Chris,

Sending a big hug your way

Make a promise to yourself to push hard and do one thing before nightfall that usually helps your mood (maybe a little exercise or call someone you haven't spoken to in ages, whatever suits you) You know you can't break a promise to yourself, right?

My heart's with you. I know how those back to back low days feel.

I am feeling a bit better today. I spoke to a pharmacist yesterday and he told me that it can take 3 to 4 weeks 4 a Citalipram dosage increase to settle which maybe why I am so bad. I knew that but it doesn't always help. I think the problem at the moment is I just want the depression to stop and that I have lost the fight in me at times.
Today I am feeling better though gonna take the dog out in a bit so hopefully that will help a bit. Thank you for the support though it really does help. Sometimes you need to just feel a bit sorry for yourself and have someone listen
