It's as if all the joy has been drained away. The world is gray. I find no joy in even simple things. I feel like I am just existing, not living. I isolate myself, which I know is wrong. The more I isolate myself, the more I want to isolate myself. Know what I mean? I'm sleeping way too much. Sleep is an escape and I look forward to that escape.
I just don't know how to pull myself out of this!! |

This is why people get on antidepressants & see therapists. They have reached the point where they simply can't do it alone. It sounds like you've reached that point, Bluegirl. There's no magic wand for this sort of depression. Reach out to someone you trust. Ask for help. Or, if there is no one you can reach out to, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, or another similar organization. They're there to help with any problem. You don't have to be in danger to call. They can help you get hooked up with needed services. And keep posting here on PC. The more you post, & reply to others' posts, the more you'll get from the time you spend here. Sometimes just writing about your concerns can be helpful all by itself.

bluegirl1, I'm sorry you find yourself in this situation. I feel the same way, and so do many others on PC. Please do find yourself a therapist and/or psychiatrist who can help you. In the meantime, we're here for you.

Bluegirl1, The Skeezyks is absolutely correct! I was exactly where you are 2 yrs ago and I made that call to the suicide hotline. One call lead to another then before I knew it I was receiving the help that I so desperately needed. I do take antidepressants now and I see a therapist weekly and I can say I no longer feel trapped or stuck in a place that no one including myself could get me out of. You don't have to remain in darkness there is a lot of light available to you.
