My friends, friend is really wanting to kill himself. He has a plan. He is serious, & is really considering it. He wants to die. He said it.
Thing is, I don't really know him. She gave me his Kik(texting app),but I do not know if I should. Or what I should say. I told her to tell her parents they're not home. Please help, What should I do? Last edited by Wren_; May 07, 2014 at 09:26 PM. Reason: added trigger icon |

can you contact their parents? If not just message them on Kik and say you are there?

Ok, if this person has told you how and when call 911 get them to their place if you know the address.
If this is a future thing, call a crisis hotline they can help you to deal with this individual as well as the effect it is having on you. I am sorry you are dealing with this, I have not had this particular issue but I have dealt with emergencies with friends that caused serious drain. The best I can say is: you are not responsible for this individual's actions. Wanting to help is a great thing it speaks twoards the kindness of your personality. Ultimately though whether or not this individual accepts your help is their choice and not on you. Hope this helps. |

Would you say they are past the point of potentially being talked out of it...once kinda recently I was having a bad anxiety attack and thought of suicide and told my mom and said I should go to the hospital but she talked to me and I was able to calm down enough to where I felt safe...so sometimes people just need to be listened to.
If you don't feel you are capable of handling it perhaps suggest they call a crisis line or try to get some help if they are like in contact with you and talking to you and seem reasonable....otherwise like the other poster said if they have blatantly said they are going to do it and have a plan then calling 911 would probably be best.

It completely drained me. Even though he wasn't my friend. He's still sad(I know it feels, it sucks),& still thinks about death, but sing at high risk right now. My friend started telling him to "just be happy,& enjoy", stop being so negative,be carefree, love life.Stop being so sad. Ugh, it annoys me, she thinks people can just always be happy. |

Stress is particularly draining mentally and physically. It is a sad situation and your friend's "just be happy & and enjoy" we know doesn''t work. I, also, hate when people assume I could be happy if i wanted to be. Happy people just can't grasp what we go through. They have no clue. They were spared the years of being plagued by mental illness. Lucky them.

![]() If you can... it would be great if you could try to explain this "you can't just be happy and forget about everything bad" thingi. It's a whole science about depression and it wouldn't be a thing called depression if you could just break out of it with sheer will. It isn't that hard to find an internet source or book about mental health stating this. But don't let it get to you if she doesn't grasp your point... some people just can't understand it ..at least not immediately... |
