Hi Friends,

This is my second year teaching college part-time.

I'm teaching Microeconomics for the second time. I taught in the Spring last year too, but I had a much smaller class -- nine students.

For Macroeconomics in the Fall, I had 25, and I have 25 this semester as well.

I've got a wealth of resources to draw from, but I don't like most of them.

I am in the process of revamping my lectures, but just feel tired and discouraged today.

Of course the fact the pay schedule is so crazy doesn't help. I received a paycheck at the end of Dec., and won't receive my next one until the third week in March.

There are so few jobs where I live -- I feel trapped. Feeling discouraged

Thanks for listening. Any and all encourgement is welcome.

EJ

Hey,

I can't think of anything useful I could tell you so I'll just say that I hope it's going to work itself out. That pay schedule is indeed crazy. I hope they at least pay you a decent amount. Good luck with revamping the lectures.

EJ... my dear friend... you fight so hard for you and your hubby. You put all of your heart, into what you do. You'll manage to find the spark again... the fire to burn for the things you do. See to it that you get the rest you need and know that we're all here to support you... through even the darkest hour.
You're such an intelligent, loving and caring woman! Be good to YOURSELF!
Somehow... even in lack of money you always find a way to make the money last long enough.

I wish I could come over and we'll chat about this and that... maybe cry some tears... but the most significant would be the sound of our laughter.
You've been a wonderful friend to me, ever since we first met here on PC...

You can do it!

((((((((((((((((((((EJ))))))))))))))))))))))))) Yes it does sound like the pay schedule has a lot to be desired. But you are a good teacher and you like to teach. I am sorry that you are discouraged right now. To me it sounds exhausting. It is very hard when your options are limited. Take care and I hope you find the desire to teach again.

EJ, you are wise, compassionate and I am sure you are a great teacher, I can't understand why they pay the way they do. I understand that jobs are scarce. Does that mean you have to be in one that makes you nuts forever? I encourage you to reach out and touch yourself with your wisdom and compassion, Also tell the college where the bear sits in the woods and that real people need to be paid occasionally. If they get ugly with you then you. have your answer. Life is too short to go around it like this, Be well my friend and take care,

You can do it!! I know that teaching is hard but just think of it this way you are touching lives and teaching them new things that they have never known before. Or at least we hope they have never learned it before. LOL! Keep up the good work you can survive!
