For those with mental health problems, do you experience those mentioned in the topic title--- delayed thinking, poor speech and communication skills, no creativity thinking.

I've had that problem with some anti-depressant medication, particularly when the depression is in full effect. I know that depression does affect my ability to think - it hampers and slows all aspects of my life...

Depression for me has a profound affect on all of the above when I am in it.

Yes, all of the above. It also messes with my ability to plan ahead for anything, weigh various options, remember major details, or prioritize. It makes it so that I can't "think straight" in nearly every aspect.

I'm not sure what you mean by "delayed thinking", but probably.

I speak fine and how good my communication skills are is a matter of opinion between myself and whoever I'm communicating with.

I have a lot of creative thoughts, but it's hard for me to turn them into art. I can't draw and I have serious writer's block.

i can't decide which apple to select in a bin of apples... just an example of the inability to make any decision, even a very simple one.

I've just posted in the daily check in about my inability to decide whether to go to a flower show or not. Just deciding, feels like climbing a mountain.

I don't always notice these things myself, but my doc can always tell how I'm doing by my voice alone. I'm much slower to answer questions, much quieter and hestitant in speech and use very few words when depressed.

Mostly while on medication.

I do experience them, however, when I'm in a deep major depressive episode. Level of severity of the episode tends to effect the symptoms in my case.

You can usually tell how I'm feeling by my voice, too. Deeper episodes usually involve slowed speech in my case, slowed response rate, less facial expressions, and a monotonous tone of voice.

This all varies from person to person, though. Depression manifests in so many different ways between people, really.

I consider my speech imperfect, as I sometimes stumble on words. Yet, I have a couple neurological factors, such as a birth defect and a permanent neurological illness. That may delay speech, not necessarily thinking.
Depression itself, for me, can sometimes keep me lost in one thought, so there can be a delayed focus, sometimes.
Creatively thinking, hasn't left the building, so to speak, thank goodness.

Absolutely. I suffer from depression and when I'm depressed I can't think straight. I do things like pour orange juice on my cereal. Or find myself staring at the computer screen trying to remember what I'm doing. Even the simplest tasks, like figuring out what time I should set the alarm for in order to be in the city in time for an early morning meeting, are overwhelming.

And I have absolutely no creativity when I'm depressed. And, yes, I have trouble communicating. It feels like I'm walking through life at a super slow speed and everyone around me is in high gear.

You're not alone. I don't have a fix for it. But, you're not alone.
