I have just been reading about Anne Frank on the web. Recently I read her Diary. She was only 15 when she died. It makes me feel so selfish to feel down when she was stuck in hiding away from the Nazis for a couple of years, and then died in a concentration camp. I mean, here I am, with enough money to live on, good family, no threats, and she was forced into hiding because she was Jewish, and she kept up her spirit in spite of all her troubles! Does this show that I am a weak person? I just feel so so bad. I wish it was all over.

RIP Dexter...

I believe that just because we don't each always face the same challenges that doesn't mean we don't have that strength within.

I think people show very surprising strength when an emergency calls for it. It surprises even themselves... especially themselves.

Look at some of the heros from 9/11 and stories like those of Anne Frank... very amazing people but I bet if you asked them beforehand they would have thought "i could never do that."

We here are all survivors in one way or another. we have a lot of strength even is we can't see that. We may not be battling nazi's or terrorists or the dark side of the force but we face our own personal demons and we survive every day... and that's more than a lot of other people can say. Our battle may not be as easy to see or to express but that doesn't make us any less strong.

Dex is right, just because we aren't faced with nazis, or battling fearce beast everyday. doesn't mean your weak.

Let me tell you a little story: Well some personal history: My father died of cancer in 1990 a month befor he died, he lived at home, my mom wanted him there, in confidence my mom told she couldn't take care of him, she was devastated by his failing health. But she did it, she had more strength than she thought. She took him to his Kemo, changed him, fed him, cleaned him and she did it all without hesitation. Many years later she had told me that she didn't know where the strength came from.

We do have more strenght than we know. I will only repeat what has already been said. You came to this website, you put up a post, only someone weak wouldn't have even gotten this far.

Keep posting it's good for ya.

I wonder if reading about the cruelty of the Nazi regime is a good idea for depressives. I agree that we all have strengths we may never realize, but the important thing is to use the gifts we have been given to the best of our ability in order to help others and to help ourselves. Thanks for sharing your feelings, it is one of your gifts.
