I am feeling more hopeless than usual. I can still turn it on for the world but more and more of my home time is spent out of faze. If I have a concrete thing to do it gets done but days where there is nothing on the calender are blanks.

My creativity has fled, I cannot initiate ( I have tried to start this thread for days), I cannot string thoughts together, I have no motivation, no desires. But put me in a room and I am on, it is not even a choice. I drive there on auto, I get there and the smile slides in to place and I am funny, vivacious, and the kind of person that has friends.

And the minute I get back in the car it is all gone.

I am starting to get whiplash. I think it is a medication issue. I noticed this change a little after my doctor put me on Topamax for migraines along with a total loss of appetite but I feel like I am getting lost. I don't trust my judgment much these days so... Help?

Consider calling your doctor directly about what's going on; don't wait for the next regular appointment. The medication might not be the main problem, but it's something to consider immediately.

Very eloquently put. I can relate immensely.

I also think though, that if the changes started around the time you used meds than it should probably be addressed with the doctor who can hopefully listen and offer a better solution.

I am the same way. I can function and keep it together to meet obligations, but if I have nothing scheduled to do I will crash on the sofa and sleep. I was on Topamax for migraine prevention for a while. My doctor had to switch me to a different med, amitriptyline because I had too many ugly side effects from the Topamax. I lost weight on the Topamax because it made me somewhat nauseated. It also affected my intellectual thinking capacity. I got where I could not remember what I was doing 5 minutes earlier. Of course that is me. I have a neice who is on Topamax and has no problems with it. Everyone is different.

I would consult with your doctor if you think some of these problems are medication related. Of course, migraine headaches are no picnic either. Best of wishes to you.

Thanks all.

I am actually switching doctors. He prescribed me this drug during the same session in which I told him about my depression low appetite and weight loss. Taking it has resulted in further weight loss and zero appetite for 2 weeks. He said my concerns about recent weight loss were excessive. Not to mention he gives me a bad feeling he is trying to schedule me for a (TMI warning stop reading) well woman visit, the last time a medical professional was there was during my ER visit last year. They were trying to save my life but it was an incredibly painful and traumatic experience (TMI done) I don't want him anywhere near me. The thought of him touching me that way after the way he talked to me sends me into a full panic. I also doesn't help that he gave me a paternalistic pat on the back as I left his office.

I think it is time to find a provider who listens when I talk.
