Hi guys,
I'll try to keep this short. I would like to explain all of the really dark stuff I've been through but lets just leave it at I had a really messed up childhood. I developed depression as a result of some stuff right before I turned 10. My family has always been really abusive and even though I'm 18 I still don't have a license because my parents refuse to teach me to drive no matter how much I ask. I just finished school not long ago (thank God I don't have to go there anymore) and I have absolutely no friends. I'm just really tired. I've got lots of health problems but at the end of the day the worst thing is probably my anxiety and depression. Over the years I have begged to see a doctor and get medicated but mom won't listen. She doesn't care. I don't know what to do!! I seriously need medication. I'm getting crazier and crazier and I just feel like I'm going to lose it. The depression is suffocating me. I don't want to wake up, I even go weeks without washing my hair because I just don't give a crap anymore...The anxiety is super bad too. I can't even look at people when I walk through the store. I really don't know what to do...everything is just a serious nightmare. Any advice? Thanks. |

How about a county health department? I'm thinking you're 18 now, you might could apply for certain government benefits. I don't know, but it' worth looking into. If you get that bad off, just go to the emergency room. You will at least find the start to getting help there.
Best of luck. |

Hello & Welcome, EvasEm. Call 2-1-1 or search for "2-1-1 Georgia" (United Way/AIRS). They may be able to direct you to resources.

I am sorry for what you have been through. Since you are 18 and don't have family support you may have to really do things on your own. Like apply for Medicaid. Or if you have insurance call and get an appointment. Follow Rohag's advice. You will have to self advocate.

If you are in abusive relationship and experience years and years of abuse, meds alone will not fix it.
You need to get out the place that suffocates you and work on your past issues as well. Meds can help, but don't imagine that taking the right pill will make your environment bearable, your past melt away and give you the balls to be the person who you want to be. It will be a lot and lot of hard work to get there.
