I'm forcing myself to sit up for more than 10 minutes, because I haven't been out of bed for longer than that since 4:00 yesterday afternoon. I'm forcing myself to try to eat, but nothing sounds or tastes good, it's too much effort to swallow, and every time I do I feel like throwing up immediately. It requires too much effort to take a shower, but suppose I can get away with that one for the weekend, since I'm not going anywhere anyway and no one will see me.

Depression sucks. Somebody tell me it gets better. I know it does, but it's hard to see right now.

I give up...

It does get better. I know the feelings you're describing SO well. I was feeling that way a couple of months ago... food was just such a huge EFFORT. First of all, nothing seems the least bit appetizing and chewing and swallowing requires more effort than it's worth... and what's the freaking point in showering? A whole lot of effort. For what? So I have been there. Many times... and the last time I felt that way, a week later I felt good again. You never know when you're going to just snap out of it. It's so hard to hang in there when you feel that crappy, but it WILL GET BETTER. Just do what you can. Make any little effort you can. Even the smallest thing -- like washing your face, brushing your teeth, or eating a bowl of soup, or making yourself go outside for a bit -- can make you feel a wee bit better. It's hard as hell to do those things, but just doing one of them can lead to doing more. The *****-coloured glasses will come off soon. ((((candybear))))

Hey, Candy,
Don't give up! It can and does get better. Been where you are now and today I feel great.

May I suggest you call your doc? You may need some pharmaceutical help.
Take good care,
Okie

(((((((((((((((((Candy))))))))))))))))))))) Please call your pdoc and tell them your symptoms are continuing. Please make sure it is not the meds that is making you physically sick and see what they suggest for your depression. Don't give up. Grab a paw and we'll sit for a bit. I am here for you.
