I am so depressed right now... There is no reason for it, but I still am. I have no idea what to do about my episodes of explosive rage either. So apparently people 16 and up can set up a doctors appointment and attend it on their own. The reason why that matters to me is because my parents have said in the past that they can't take me to the docs because they can't afford it.

Well I can. I told my parents such and what did they do? They took my phone and car keys away! They said, "Your problem is that you need to control it, not go to the doctor. It's all in your head. I don't remember what happened after I ran to my room and locked my door. But I did wake up to a very dirty room this morning. I think I had a rave attack then a seizure. Or seizures cause by Conversion disorder.

I really need help... But I think it probably just is all in my head...

Hi PinYoda,
Thanks a lot for sharing. If not in your head, where should it be? Depression is a mental health condition. You may have depression or not, anyway your parents are not certified to establish that. It is a doctor who has the ability and the knowledge to distinguish between regular mood changes due to adolescence and depression. If I could talk to your parents I would ask them: "what are you afraid of? Why don't you want your child to go to the doctor to confirm a diagnosis? If you, parents, are right, well, the best way to prove your child wrong is to bring the case to a doctor. Only a professional would be able to evaluate the mental health of your child. And... What about if you are wrong and your child does have a mental health condition that needs to be treated? "

Sadly the general public doesn't know much about mental illness and the fact that it isas serious as any other illness. You shouldn't feel bad for wanting treatment, your parents just might me uneducate, miseducated, or be stuck up in the whole social stigma.

Hello & Welcome, PinYoda. Could you talk to a school nurse about your symptoms?

Thank you. I see you have a conversion disorder diagnosis and nonelectrographic seizures.

You are currently receiving treatment for these, yes?
In diagnosing nonelectrographic seizures, did the doctors rule out temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE)?

I was getting treatment, but it only lasted a month or two. My parents decided not to continue. And the docs did not rule TLE out.
