I have been going to a therapist and a doctor who specializes in psychiatric medications for a while now. I was diagnosed as depressed, but i have tried 2 different antidepressants and i'm still having problems. While my anxiety has gotten better i still have issues with the following:
*my inability to concentrate
*it's hard for me to accomplish anything
*feeling like a failure as a mother, worker, and girlfriend
*everyday i feel like i haven't slept in days when i sleep
7-10 hours a night depending on when my son goes to
bed and when he wakes up
no matter how many times i bring it up they say it's the depression. Is there something else i should have them look into?

Well even when you find the right med/combo it can take awhile. There's nothing wrong with you just be patient with yourself

Depression wrings the energy out of us and tells us we suck the most. Meds can take a long time to help, and several attempts to find what suits you, but meds plus therapy is usually helpful. Hang on in there and try to remind yourself what good things there are about you ( or what others say, even if you don't believe them) it may help t write them down to help you get through each hour. Yearning for you to find hope and peace.

Yes, I would ask your MD to check for problems like hypothyroidism that could explain being sleepy all the time or depression in general. There are actually quite a few things to check for. I have a partial list here

along with many healthy safe things for you to try that have quite a good chance of working for you.

keep pestering the docs, but also, if you can, take some of the things they say with a "grain" or a "bucket load" of salt
