I stayed in because of rain and worked my depression workbook . It restarted my nightmares . I would wake my self up by yelling in my sleep . It was scenes from a traumatic event that is going on . I have some phobias to these flashes in my mind so i had to get up three times for more medicine to try and control it and let me sleep . Now i'm up and groggy, not a restful sleep .
Is it normal to fall back some when you think depression is getting a little better ? I think it was anxiety taking me there , i still try to find things I can do to stop this mind fear . It seems I wanted to run away in my sleep. yelling no,no , stop stop . facing fears is not an easy thing to do since some it is really happening . I used to handle everything as it came, now my fears make me tremble and hide . Racing nasty thoughts of the things that I have fear of . |

Hi Lima, sorry you are having such a tough time dealing with trauma. Glad you are working the depression notebook. Often experiencing things that trouble us can be a path to health. Have you thought of talking to your therapist about this?
sounds like you are on the the roller coaster depression can be. But hang in there. Depression Support Chat in the chat room on Thursday at 9PM EST is a great place to share. Also Anxiety Support Chat Friday 8PM EST.

sorry you're going through that, I agree I think it's the ups and downs of depression. maybe it's emotional withdrawal? that could be a good thing in the long run. it would be nice if our bodies and mind worked that way, we just drain what's bad for us.
are you taking any sleep aids? are u working on your workbook before sleeping? I've switched to watching the NASA channel and drinking tea, take my sleep aid and the nightmares subsided a bit. or I don't remember them. maybe that'll help for you? |

Hi Lima01,
Sorry to hear you're finding the dreams are worse again. I do find sometimes that when I am addressing a issue it haunts me more before it gets better. It's something to do with reprocessing it I think. It would be a good idea to discuss it with your therapist and ask for any suggestions they have to deal with the anxiety when it comes, especially at night. Sometimes I find that when my depression is a bit better, it does seem to stop suppressing the anxiety, anger and other more high energy symptoms. Maybe it is a good sign and you will be able to move through this to better health? The very warmest wishes and care I can send are being sent your way. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
