just can't tell whether cymbalta's not working or if it's causing me too much side effects of extreme sleepiness and mental fog and confusion. been like this for too long, and it's getting worse. it's starting to freak me out.

How many milligrams are you on daily?

call your doctor.....tell him/her exactly what's going on.

I know that sounds dumb, stupid and a whole bunch of other adjectives but I found out it really works. He did call me back and did make immediate changes...
I use to just wait until my regular monthly visit...now I call when I'm really having problems...if nothing else it is a reassuring voice on the other end of the phone. If your pdoc doesn't call you back....find another doctor.

I've recently begun cymbalta but I had excessive fatigue and mental fogginess before I went on it. I've done relatively well with it as far as side effects (i think - I had so many issues before it's hard to tell). This week I increased from 60 mg to 90 mg and haven't noticed anything negative.

However, it sounds like you obviously are having some issues, so I would definately call the doc - they can make some adjustments to see if it can be corrected. Try to have patience, taking new meds or switching meds is always a difficult time and it's tough to be patient with the process!
