Today was not a good day. This weekend was not a good weekend. I want to hear something nice.

Please tell me about something good that happened to you. Doesn't matter if it was 5 minutes ago or 5 years ago, and whether it was that you got out of bed today or you met your dream celebrity: I don't care. Just something nice.

I spent a beautiful sunny day mostly outside with a really dear friend, ate a delicious lunch and bought myself a very pretty inexpensive bracelet.
Thanks for this!

2 years ago, I was sent abroad for work. For the entire year, I was happy to be alone, with an apartment all by myself, a challenge yet fun job, good surrounding with nice people, and mostly to be far away from my family, and my mom specifically. That's when I felt the happiest.

When I had no money and I found a packet of unopened cigarettes in the street. This is a silly one but it might make you smile lol

I spent lunch yesterday with my parent who is seriously mentally ill, neglectful, abusive, etc.
I realized today that I wasn't destroyed by those two hours. I am an adult, and she can't hurt me anymore. She has changed not one bit and never will, but I have. I am better, stronger, and healthier. I don't and won't ever go back.
Hugs from:

Ok something just out and out nice...best celebrity I ever met, Gillian Anderson. Odd but X-Files kept me going and kept me sane in a very tough period of my life. I always wanted to meet the cast, especially Gillian "Agent Scully". When I was 19, I despaired that would ever happen. I had no money. She pretty much never did scifi conventions anyway. Flash forward to I think age 33. I got to meet her at DragonCon in Atlanta. Even though I have met many celebs in between, I was so nervous to meet her. It was my turn I said my short prepared speech about the show's impact on me and my mental health. She looked at me so kindly and said thanked me and asked how I was doing now. I told her I was so much healthier and felt so much better. She smiled and said she was so glad. It probably lasted two minutes or less but man, that was a dream come true. Definite bucket list check mark.

I heard about the story of Sir Nicholas Winton who rescued 669 Jewish children from the Nazi death camps on the eve of WW2.
He was such a humble man he never told his wife, who only found out when she discovered his scrap-books in the attic.

Here is a clip from a TV show where as an old man he gets to meet all the people he saved, now adults themselves.

It's a very beautiful moment.

Hope you feel better soon
