I've felt really crappy today. Tired, sad, scared, anxious, afraid. I realized that in my head I kept repeating... "I just want to be happy". I don't even know what that means for me sometimes. This can't be my life.

I want to feel that surge in my heart of gratefulness. The desire to be creative. Curiosity about and empathy for others. Looking forward to ANYTHING. Taking care of myself and looking nice again. Connecting with anything.

Gratefulness, love, family, mindfulness, laughter, exercise, self-esteem, liking what I see in the mirror, outdoors, food, animals, smells......

What is happiness to you?

I can't say enough about this supplement. For whatever reason, it keeps my depression at bay and I feel so much better when I take it.

Dear GGChar,
Once I bookmarked the following webpage:

How To Help Yourself Get Through Depression on a Day-To-Day Basis

Maybe something from it will be helpful.

Admittedly, the only advise from it that I follow consistently is #13. Go for a long walk. I force myself to do it everyday. When I'm not as depressed, I look forward to it. However, at first, it was a painful drudgery. It does get you out in the sunshine; makes you feel like you accomplished something, prevents weight gain, etc.

Hope you find a bit of what you are looking for soon!

Thanks for this!

Happiness is this:

I know that's obnoxiously simple, but it's true. Do what makes you smile.

Thank y'all so much for you replies. I was in a lot of misery that day and it helps so much that you reached out to help me!

I do exercise almost every day and I know if I don't it will be bad news for me. When it gets a little cooler here I will try out the walking. I have a beautiful National park near me and being outside would be really good.

I have a lot of things that make me smile but on my bad days I just can't get to them. Today is a really good day. Lots of energy, sense of humor, and I feel good. I guess I have to take the bad with the good. Keep reaching out for help here and giving back.

Thank you, thank you for helping me through it!

Today happiness for me is going back to bed and snuggling down with my dogs. Laying in my cool, dark room is making me feel happiness today. Just appreciating that I am able to make this choice for myself today gives me happiness.
