I've been thinking about this a lot lately.
Think about emotions. Are they really a good thing? I personally feel that it is never ok for a man to cry especially in public. The world in general looks down on men that cry as weak & I tend to agree. I often fight back tears so others don't see me cry. After all I don't want to be labeled a drama king or a cry baby.
Yet when we get angry people often are afraid that we may end up going on some kind of killing spree. That person that is always happy and bubbley we look at as strange. Excitement inevitably leads to disappointment. I'm sure if you tried you could think of other examples as well.
This is why I always try hard to keep my emotions in check. I am always working towards the day of when I can kill my emotions all together.

I'm not a guy but I won't cry in front of anyone, and very seldom do I cry alone. In my family, man or woman, you don't cry. You just don't or you'll get a reason to.
Possible Trigger Below
I remember crying because I busted my knee cap real bad, well I got a slap to the back of the head and was told to shut my mouth. When I was seen crying again because of it, my busted knee was kicked, hard. I didn't cry in front of anyone for over ten years after that. I don't believe this was right and it sure as hell wasn't right how my dad mocked my brother the only time we saw him cry. I believe people should be allowed to let it out, man or woman. After all, it's a coping mechanism, let that person use it. At the same time, I don't know how to act around someone who's crying and get so awkward I laugh and look like a **** head. Oddly, I'm more comfortable with men who do it over women. I do, however, acknowledge the double standard over the matter and it pisses me off.

Yeah, there's a lot of double standard for this.. but feeling emotions is perfectly reasonable, so even if other people shame you, remember that there's nothing to be ashamed of
