Right now in life, I'm suffering, I can't Invision myself living any longer and I feel stuck where I am. I don't know what to do with life and I'm scared. The thought of dying scares me also but sometimes it seems like a better option to this, but sometimes I wonder if I actually want to go through with it or if it's just a way to show other people I'm actually suffering and just want it to be an attempt. I have researched many suicide methods from jumping to cutting and overdose and a couple others and I think I'm pretty solid in my knowledge of them to know which ones work. I keep trying to tell myself that it will get better but I know it won't. I do want help but I don't think I will be taken seriously enough if I'm don't have an attempt under my belt, so to say. I know that sounds morbid, but its the only thing i can think about.

If you talk to the right people, they'll take you seriously. Any nurse, doctor or therapist worth their salt would see that you need help. You wouldn't have to attempt. Have you ever used a hotline before? They can sometimes be good to talk to about these things and they're always more than willing to get you information about a good therapist you might be able to afford in your area. What you just said here, constitutes taking your situation extremely seriously. I don't want you to even attempt because what if you actually succeed? And if you don't succeed, what permanent damage could you be left with; brain damage or worse? Listen, it's not worth it. You do need help but I don't want you to get it after it's already too late. And sure, you want attention for people to notice that you're in so much pain; but that doesn't excuse the pain causing you to even question whether or not you want to die. Attention or no attention, you're hurting. Your pain deserves to be treated. You deserve to heal.

I have not tried a hotline yet, I have used 7 cups of tea before but that's about it, I know the dangers of attempting suicide I have read all about them from many sources, liver damage from overdosing, brain damage if you don't aim the gun correctly, and permanent disfiguration if you don't jump from high enough or you cut in the wrong place. It's just such a strong fear of mine and it's hard to shake. I fear I will always be a burden to others I do know its irrational at times but it does hurt. I just want, no, need something to confirm to myself and others that I do suffer. I want that extreme even if it damages me. I might try a hotline , but I still fear I will just be a waste of time.

No one's a waste of time. You are not a waste of time.

1-800-273-8255 -Suicide Prevention Lifeline. They are volunteers, meaning they want and choose to help those who suffer as you do.

I'll also be here. You're not a waste of my time and I would be honored to just be a listening ear (eyes, whatever).

NotDeadYet if you do call the hotline I HIGHLY recommend caller ID block. Having worked in a crisis center before they have caller ID and will try and figure out where you are if they are overly concerned.

Why would you want to prevent someone from trying to help you when you're clearly reaching out for help? It doesn't make sense.

I'm guessing it sends them a red flag so they will take you more seriously is all I can think of Humpty's idea.

Notdeadyet, please seek out for help. Anytime I feel suicidal I try to remind myself that that isn't me speaking, but the illness. Please seek out for help. Your life matters and we are here for you

What is a red flag? I'm confused...

They can still help without calling the cops and having them forcibly commit you. Being hauled off in front of everyone doesn't help anyone. Caller ID block just helps insure that won't happen.
