so i'm posting this as a general question.. a lot of people are scared of death, or afraid of how it might be like to die, etc.

so does anyone have a way they look at death cthat makes them less afraid/ depressed about the whole thing?
example: when ever I start worrying about death and what will happen, I always think of the lion king and the circle of life.

makes me feel better all the time, because I know it's natural and it happens to us all.

what about you

I see it as an end too the fight I go through everyday being a recovering addict from pain Meds as well as ADHD , Depression, anxiety. But since stop of abusing pain meds and receiving mental health care I am doing a lot better I take Adderall 20mg 3 times day, suboxone down from 12 mg 6, klonopin 1mg down from 3mg a day to
1mg at night and Zoloft 100mg. But death is going to be relief of all pressures of life and hopefully reincarnation into an Eagle I can just fly

I struggle with this way too much. I am not sure how I see death and that bothers me. On one hand, I believe that we have souls. On another hand, I've witnessed way too much death in my life and it appears to me that when a being dies, it's just gone. But then, I've also had a very strong sensation of a deceased loved one being near me at times.

So I guess my answer is...I'm not sure how to perceive death.

Stick with the feeling you get when loved one dies that's what it's telling you spirit lives on!¡

I see myself composed of countless cells & parts and also a part of this earth that is part of something bigger and so on.

We become what we are focused on. Call me crazy but I feel like I can reduce myself to unicellular form and also reach out into space.

Death is just another idea. We created death.

It's inevitable, and you never know when or how it will happen. I had a close call once, and my life really did flash before my eyes. I'm scared of dying in some horribly painful way, but otherwise I'm very accepting.

My dads Muslim and mom Christian. Ive grown up believeing you go to heaven when you die also that only the body dies your soul doesn't and mind doesn't ive often liked to agree with my parents but i like to think of death as a time when you turn off your thinking like a coma its just a long deep sleep and you dream.if your in heavenly thoughts youll get good ones if not youll get nightmares.this earth were in now its just a dream till we come in are next one

In 2012 I was told I had great chances to die. I was hospitalized. I felt desperate and then with an acute pain in my chest. And then I felt terrible bitter. I could not accommodate to the idea I was going to die. I was bitter towards myself because I had worked myself to death.

As a Paramedic/ Firefighter I saw death on a frequent basis , I also saw a lot of life ,both good and bad in equal extremes.
On a more closer to home sense of death , for years it was something that both pissed me off and motivated me,
I had a lot of very close personal loss as a kid , which is kinda what drove me to learn both medicine and religion of many different faiths and cultures( I was Catholic when I started, I am now a "blend" , if something resonated with me in my heart as making sense , I adopted it , no matter the culture or religion it's from )
For many years of life I was clueless about so many things ,I do firmly believe in "spirits" , I have been "visited" on several important occasions which caused me to check on someone or something at a time I ordinarily would not have , this has been a significant "benefit" , I don't know for sure who's "spirit" visited me but I got the message as it were.
In 2013 I myself died in my sleep ,but was found and resuscitated only to drop into a coma , I have a few memories that I shouldn't have and learned a lot while recovering from that ,it took me a good year and a half and if a an old Neurologist of mine who I hated had not of been there I would be still obsessed with figuring out which one of my friends "planked" me .
Death is just another part of life ,as soon as your born you are dying , at what age and time we aren't informed , sometimes modern medicine can intervene sometimes not , the only time machine in this world is the one you come out of with millions of questions that may or may not be answered in the course of life , the simple answer to many things boils down to, it's not the dog in the fight , it's the fight in the dog .
If today was not the best day of your life and your skeptical about tomorow , try missing one, it truly changes everything is the truest sentence I have ever heard.

As people we put way to much emphasis on what is death , probably because we hate mysteries , it's the ultimate question with no good answers because generally once you die, you can't come and tell everyone about, or anyone that "can" is treated like they are a French frie short of a happy meal, even if the truth about death was staring most people in the face they would either deny it , or want independent verification from another source, its best to put emphasis on living and being present in the things we do , dying is much like life , it's not easy. there are many more people to talk to that have answers about living or can guide us in what we do and how we do it , then people who know anything about death for certain, if we do run across somebody we usually don't believe them( I was seeing a therapist ,back in 2013 to help me heal from losing my adoptive Mom, he himself had a near death experience from a cardiac issue years earlier and had a really hard time finding a therapist experienced with the issues it brings up , so he was one of those "lucky" breaks I got in this life ,he's been thru the issues himself so he could really understand what I was trying to understand or could guide me to the root issue of something If I was off course on something , I think he retired last year which is a shame because he was a really good resource for people , and the only one in this region with any idea about "near death issues". )

Incident lyrics researchers in England made an electricaly isolated hospital and have proven that after death there is an electrical energy that is "attached" (as in it follows the body it came from ) , although they could not track that energy outside of the hospital for obvious reasons , when the body left so did it's energy .

We have completely debunked the early belief of the "soul" having weight , that was a wild goose chase by a dude with a fancy scale back in 1800 something who did not factor in everything he should have .

We sleep to rest from the hardships of the day. Death to me is the eternal sleep in which we rest from the hardships of life permanently.

But it is different when you see death coming to you by itself, even if you had desired being dead with intensity many times before.

Shattered, as I was just reading your post thinking about what might make u feel more comfortable with death. Well, I am not sure if any of us are!!!

With that said, I have heard of people becoming more comfortable with their death thru organ donation. They feel like they would die in order for someone to live. It is amazing how much of our bodies can be used to heal someone of their pain, and the extent of which organ and tissues can be repurposed. In a sense u are giving back!

I, myself think it would be cool to save a few lives instead of letting my body rot in the ground or turned into ashes.

Just my thought
Thanks for this!

I'm not afraid of it anymore, and I often wish for it. I'm sure it's just gonna be a big void. Hard to comprehend. But like the billions of years before I was born and not being aware of anything.

Since there is no law of nature prohibiting birth, the odds that you will be born as some other being after this life increase with time and the actual number of births. Death is our only chance of exploring the cosmos.
