Why do they wait until we are "too far gone" before they offer substantive help.

Dumb bear, it's about cost ....

I hope my experiences somehow help someone somewhere

(Not about anyone on pc)

it seems they work by what they believe is priority

if someone is at risk right now, they get the help

but if someone isn't, or if someone can hold on a bit longer, then they have to wait

then more and more people become high risk at 1 given time, so they get the help they need, making others wait longer

then, you get people who go to the doctors complaining of psymptoms that turn out to be nothing at all, and of course, because they are over exagerating, they get help

in terms of mental health, it seems that the people at high risk of suicide (either because they are actually going to do it, or because they are over exagerating, get priority)

so the rest of us, again, have to wait

in that time, someone who is not as high risk could become high risk, kill themselves, and well.. that would be it

happened to my friend bethany

no one took her seriously when she said she was going to commit suicide, no one would see her because everyone was preoccupied with more important cases, and she ended up doing it

I believe there's something to be said for some organisations in Switzerland. Especially when the "help" offered in the uk is exactly as you've described

I saw a programme about those, and I remember afterwards becoming completely obsessed.

Possible trigger:

**** the government

I'm sorry if I triggered. I understand not wanting to talk about this stuff. For me, if my body wasn't so ****ed up i probably wouldn't be thinking along those lines so much

I'm sorry about Bethany

I don't think you did anything wrong posting that. If I had had a good friend who had died, I would still think of them and probably talk about them

I'm sorry if anyone has been triggered by my post. It wasn't my intention.. i should probably have kept it to myself. But then I think people who are unable to talk anywhere, for whatever reason, are probably much more likely to complete su. Just my opinion. I don't know much

i'm..... okay, I think?

that post did hit me quite hard

and thanks for your concern about bethany too. she was like the sister I never had (even though I have a sister, she's not really part of my life)

bethany had BPD, and though it was really often hard for her, we still had a lot of fun together

I don't think I did see that one

(I'm not sure if we're supposed to talk much about this sort of thing on here but I've been known to be wrong, or somewhat paranoid)

I did see the one about someone with an incurable medical condition, not sure about more details (I'd have to check with papa bear to see if he remembers )

To anyone else reading this

I'm sorry if I triggered. I have no intention of doing that (I would gain nothing from it, for one thing)

And actually I'm a pretty nice person, especially considering what the rest of the family of origin are like

My sleep has been very off lately

I'm sure I'll "feel better soon"

Peace to all in this forum

fuzzy

I don't believe anyone is ever too far gone. I firmly believe that there is room for hope as long as we are breathing.

People only die when the living forget about them,so talking about Bethany means she is gone but not forgotten.

Hello dear Fuzzybear,
Could you please elaborate on the ‘organisations in Switzerland’ mentioned in the above post?
Thank you in advance.
