I don't think this is vitamin d or even necessarily light related because I work graveyard shift anyway.
I really feel like my depression intensifies or gets better depending on wether or not we are on standard or daylight savings. I always seems to dip into a downward spiral around August and September and then it gets pretty hardcore around October(barely leave the house and sleep alot). Then around mid January I can feel myself getting better. (More awake and motivated) and i know in March and April my mood will be at a peak(highly productive, leave the house a little, I might even socialize). In May and June I will level out (mildish depression and anxiety). Can anyone relate to this?

I kinda can relate to his. For me, it tends to hit more around October/November, and lasts until April/May. It depends on my depressive episode. I've had it hit in February before, but I think that is because of my brain chemicals being out of whack after coming off my antidepressant 3 months prior. This would be seasonal depression. I am not sure if I have seasonal depression or not. My depressive episodes seem to be all over the place.

I don't know if it's related to the area you live at. For me I tend to get anxious and depression around March and April. And then after that I feel below "so-so" until around October. I feel more down when it's very warm than when it's cool or cold. I guess I feel the way I do around spring because, over the years, bad things have happened at that time.
Today is a nice, cold, blustery day for the area where I live. There are thick passing clouds that are nice to look at. I would feel much happier right now if I didn't have to take my car in for service this morning (see Daily Check In). When I used to live on the east coast I would be very happy in the spring because I loved it at that time there. Summer would depress me. Fall was alright and winter was so-so. |
