I was depressed so I kept distance from my new friends because someone picked on me because they weren't cool. They were in fact. They got me into Good music. I listened to hard rock, rap and they got me into indie rock. My parents were beyond really strict. I sometimes didn't go out because me and my friends had nowhere to go and I got so bored wandering the streets.
They started to hang around with a group of boys who my dad called "wasters" so I was forbidden to go to their houses. And my parents threatened to throw me out if they caught me there and warned me that they would find out. It's true, they would have found out. |

Hey man, you seem to be focused on the negatives.
Being depressed blows. Don't stay there for too long. You have people who love you |

Hi. I understand how it is living with strict parents. I'm probably much older than you, but I get it. If you live with them, it's probably best to listen to them, I'm pretty sure they have your best interest at heart.

My parents think I am studying when I stay in . I am brooding mostly. I spend a lot of time online. I download films and music. I wish I played an instrument. But I stay in a top floor flat and my step dad is in weeknights while my mum works at pub. And an electric guitar to plug into an amp is far too expensive. So to cure my insomnia I draw and paint. Getting quite good at it. I watch TV with my mum and dad at night they have good taste . One of my friends is jealous that my parents are cool.

Can you shop online for a used acoustic guitar to start with? I play guitar a bit and I find it's great therapy. Glad you like to draw and paint, and that you get to watch some good t.v. Brooding is ok, but keep up with some hobbies and school if you're in school, do the best you can.

My toffee nosed cousin said that I was so anti-social. His female friends stepped in on my defence and said that I was maybe shy. I just felt out of my comfort zone. This wasn't the type of people I would choose to socialise with. The main reason was because I was acutely aware of my back round being the opposite side of the fence to nearly all of them. My mum and her brothers attitude to life could not have been more different.

I remember we visited one time. And for reasons I still cannot fathom, me and my female cousin had to stay at home while they all went out for tea and a Couple of pints. Now, I had perfect etiquette when eating out. All I can think was that my male cousin would have a playmate and the adults wanted to speak about one of the two us. My family had this deeply entrenched set of values where boys always got more. Hell, my mum could not have made it more obvious that SHE wished that she was "one of the boys." She had this affiliation to stamd up for the man even if it were plain as day that they were the bad one or in the wrong. She did it to me when Fred and I broke up. My grandfather said that Fred was "soft as clarts" for letting me be the named driver on his insurance. At least my cousins mum stands on her side. Unlike mine, who never did.
