For three months pretty temperature intolerant. When I wake up in the AM I have chills, low body temperature (96-97), and chills upper back and neck even though my body skin is warm. By the time I warm up usually in the afternoon the heat kills me it seems I can only operate at around 72 inside the house, otherwise I am fighting hot/cold the rest of the day. Not on any meds, but does depression (or anxiety) illicit these symptoms?
Thanks.

It has for me at times. When I am having severe anxiety, I can get real hot even if the temperature is down. Other times, I can get chills even when the temperature is hot. Mostly, I just get overheated though.

It is for me with anxiety. I can get some severe chills when my anxiety is up. I get overheated during panic attacks the vast majority of the time.

Depression kinda just makes me hate whatever temperature it is. If it's hot, I hate it. If it's cold, I hate it. 72 is a good temp, though.

And this has been this way from the moment I get up till (say) 7 at night. Literally every day for 3 months. I don't "feel" anxious, but I am clearly on edge all the time, a plate drops in the sink I jump out of my skin, I've had to panic attacks (where I wasn't panic'ing mentally) that ended me up in the ER. Its like there is an underlying anxiety I am not aware of consciously.

What you said about the plate dropping sounds a bit like me. I am very jumpy. And any time the littlest thing goes wrong, I get this overwhelming sense of impending doom. If I drop something, it was meant to be just to irritate me. If I spill coffee grounds, it was meant to be just to irritate me. If I trip on the door step, it was meant to be just to hurt me, etc. Ugh.

You're not alone.

Just can't believe depression and anxiety could be giving me no ability to operate in a temperature range, with constant chills or hot flashes everyday ALL day. I can not regulate my temperature at ALL.

How old are you and what gender? I ask because it could be hot flashes.

If I were you I would at least rule out some sort of thyroid dysfunction. Beyond that, I am not sure what other medical conditions could cause this, although I am certain there are others.

Psychologically, yes you can react differently to hot and cold than 'normal'. Your body temp being low like that upon waking up in the morning could signal something else is going on. Idk.

I get hot easily when I am anxious. When I am depressed I am more numb to any heat or cold sensation. My body will react normally.. like I will sweat for example.. but I don't feel noticably hot or cold while everyone around me does and I know I normally would.
