I just want to know how many people are going to view this holiday as nothing short of hell?
Let's get it out there, people. The holidays are HELL. No one enjoys them, not even the "normal" people...
Hating Thanksgiving is not only normal, it's REQUIRED...

Actually I like the holidays.
I just don't like it when it involves all the headache of in-laws and relatives.

This is when I have to admit that I enjoy seeing family. Hey, we were dysfunctional but we're still close.

Even though we're going to my husband's ex-wife's house, the weather is supposed to be pretty good/warm and she has porches so I won't be stuck inside. Too, I always like food :-) I just found a perfect "hostess" gift to take her so I won't feel bad not taking any food or anything, and I like her sister okay so there might be some "good" conversation.

I got some sort of medium-sized blue "dish" (would be good for candy, I guess) with cutesy snowmen/scene in it I found in, you ready?, a cutesy gift shop :-) This particular shop is in a "new" shopping center and was one of the first shops to take up residence after the center was built about a little over a year ago and it's called the "Coffee Bean" but my husband and I came upon this shopping center back then and were looking for food/coffee and were horribly disappointed when it turned out not to have anything to do with same. My husband didn't even come inside as the scented candles, etc. are overpowering. One of those shops. But it was perfect today while I was waiting for my friend to go to the grocery store. I found "snowman kits" too which look to be a little bag of stuff that makes hot chocolate with marshmallow, some round peppermints, cinnamon sticks, etc. They'll go fine with my "cocoa" lip gloss I got my 42,000 grand nieces and nephews I see Christmas Day.

The holidays are difficult for me because I DON'T get to see family. Family meaning all of my kids and grandkids.

I have no parents, no syblings, no aunts or uncles, not even cousins that I keep in touch with. Many have died.

In-laws? One SIL... and we despise each other! So much for family...
