I had on of my best days that I can remember yesterday. I cooked for two days. l had my mother, Nancy, my daughter Izzybelle and her husband James, Earl and my baby boy Brandon. I cooked a 19.5lb turkey that is gone.... no left overs for today. I told my kids old stories about our families heritage. T thinks this a good idea. My Native American background is very interesting. I was raised hearing the stories, at Thanksgiving and other family gatherings. We laughed and cried together it was wonderful. Nancy ate well, sat at the table and smiled. The kids said I look good for a old bird, too funny. My daughter and her husband gave me a new laptop, new to me but a year old. I feel blessed by yesterday. Just when you feel like giving up something changes you mind.

we just pretty much got together. My Mom normally plays internet poker for about 12 hours a day leaving no time for me to burn my CD's, but yesterday she sacrficed a couple games so I could burn one...which was nice. We also pigged out, played with two very grumpy toddlers, and watched some funny movies. My Mom was actually acting decent yeseterday. My step dad normally hides in the bedroom when I bring my kids over, he's not used to kids....but this time he actually held them and played with them for a couple minutes. It was okay, I'm celebrated another Thanksgiving on Saturday because my husband had to work yesterday and today.

(((((((( therealme ))))))))))))

Thankgiving was started by our Pilgram forbearers who, with the Native Americans celebrated their survival of the first year of their moving to the New World. Many had died that year, but some made it through.

The Native Americans brought food with them and the Pilgrims made food, too and they celebrated for three days, eating, visiting and giving thanks for their survival and blessings.

In these times, Thankgsiving is a time for family and friends to come together and take a day to be thankful for each other and their blessings. The day before Thanksgiving has the most travelers of any day in the year. Turkey is almost always served along with stuffing. Pumpkin pie is almost always served also.

We have a huge parade in New York called the Macy's Thanksgiving parade. It's always fun to watch on tv while we cook.

There are no exchanges of presents unless someone brings an extra dish or bottle of wine, etc., to share.

I hope this helps you understand Thanksgiving. If you have any more questions, please just ask.

My day was peaceful! Went out to dinner and it was supper! Didn't hear from any of my kids, but that's nothing new.

Jerry drug out all the Christmas stuff and we've already started decorating the inside. He's gotten heavy into buying parts for a Christmas village. We've both been like a couple of kids arranging and rearranging the buildings and people. LOL

I, too, cooked for two days. My two sons, their wives, and three grandchildren came and my husband and I enjoyed them immensely.
We all pigged out with dinner and desserts and watched movies and I played with the grandchildren. I was sooo tired that the last two days, I haven't done anything. But it was so worth it.
Hope everyone else had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Linda

I had a nice Thanksgiving... Except that I was informed at 10pm Wed. evening that additional guests were expected and that I had to have the food cooked by noon Thursday.. HAHA on me
Was up all night cooking because I didn't cook anything ahead of time.... I did get the 2 turkeys and ham and stuff that goes with dinner done by noon..I was exhausted... Nobody showed up till after 4pm .. lol and they ate alllllllllllll the food too.. lol......... But that is what Thanksgiving is for. Sharing and being thankful.......Since I did not "buy" the food, all I did was cook it, I am not complaining how was your thanksgiving I cooked as a favor for a friend. And I did not have to entertain anyone.. wipes brow.. Am thankful for many blessings on this Thanksgiving day........

Fine and pretty funny, my sibling and a cousin broke a light and he stood up with my cousin and announced "Don't worry we'll fix it!, We're Mature men!" and then after someone made a slice into a fresh pumpkin pie they tried to pick it up with the pie scoop and it went flying across the room! I had 4 slices of Pumpkin and 1 Apple slice. I did not eat turkey instead Swedish meatballs and ham. I had great potatoes and a lot of other great stuff, I did not even eat all the food on my plate. Neither did I eat any snacks or Breakfast. Just Two Thanksgiving dinners at each grandparent's house. I hope Thanksgiving was enjoyable and exciting for you all! God bless you all and be thankful for everything! how was your thanksgiving

I did not cook a turkey this year..my knees were too sore to do that. So my roomie and I had spaghetti with ground beef and sauce...watched SOME of the Macy's Parade..Being a football fan, I watched some college football, also NFL it was the Detroit Lions, forget the other team...
