most of us 'know' that our brains, minds especially, are 'messed up' ! that's why we're on here.

some people are diligently working with professionals to 'help' the mind/brain get a little better. they are actively trying things left and right, doing what the professionals suggest, and relying on support from others.

but sadly, the opposite is true and happens.

some people are so completely worn down, that they have nothing left. they don't have the energy to do things, or go 100% or over the top, or even have a large supportive community around them.

then there are those who have been beaten so badly by M.I.s that all they can do is just survive! the minimum energy is conserved and used only on the basics (or small things). they don't have support from others, maybe just a few or maybe none at all!

and there seems to be different types of these people: the ones who are open about their condition and talk about it, and then the ones who are closed and don't talk about their condition (for whatever reasons).

so what do you do when your messed up mind/brain gets hurt even more? (could be physical or mental or even emotional)
how do you even begin to 'fix' or treat something that's been messed up or hurt time & time again, one on top of another?

is it even possible to treat just the 'top level' and leave the rest alone?
maybe all you want is to just fix the current 'hurt' and leave everything else alone & untouched.

but the professional says to you, "we'll get you back to where you were before this happened". and all you can do is laugh inside - cuz you know that s**t ain't gonna happen.

what happens when you can't do what the professionals are asking of you? what if the 'fixing steps' (or treatment) are too much for you?
-> it's rather difficult to explain that you just can't do it............

or maybe you're so terrorized of your mind that there's not way in h**l that you are going to let someone root in or "mess around up there"!!!!!!

Thanks for posting this. I'm sorry I don't have any answers to offer. But a lot of what you wrote applies to me. So I thought I would at least leave a rely. In my case I'm just old, thoroughly confused as to what happened with me, & drained of energy. So at this point, even if I could find a really good therapist, I have neither the will nor the energy to delve into the rat's nest that constituted my life. And as a result I'm just biding my time, doing what has to be done day-to-day, & waiting for nature to take it's course. That's about all I can say.
