how to say no it's SUPPOSE TO RAIN TOMORROW BUT IT'S RAINING IN MY APARTMENT NOW. YEA, TEARS ARE FLOWING FROM MY EYES BECAUSE EVERYTIME I MENTION A NEIGHBOR INVITING ME TO GO SOMEWHERE W/THEM I DON'T GO AND MY SAYS I SHOULD GO SO I CAN MAKE NEW FRIENDS. I GET SO TIRED AND FILED W/ANXIETY WHEN THEY TELL ME THIS. I JUST WANT TO HIDE, I JUST WANT TO SCREAM SO I CRY INSTEAD. WHEN I GET ANGRY WHICH IS VERY RARELY IN FACT, I GUESS I SHOULD CALL IT IRRITABLE, I DON'T THROW THINGS, I DON'T PUNCH MY PILLW AND I DON'T BREAK DISHES. I JUST STUFF IT INSIDE. I KNOW THEY LOVE ME BUT I'M JUST NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO TELL THEM, TO BACK OFF. I ALWAYS TELL MY NEIGHBORS SURE I WOULD LIKE TO GO BUT I DON'T. I JUST DON'T FEEL LIKE IT RIGHT NOW OR EVER. I THINK I WILL STAY DEPRESSED THE REST OF MY LIFE, I SEE NO END IN SIGHT,,,,,,,,,,PJ56

are you on meds for it?
the best thing to do is take it one step at a time... go out (on your own if you like) and just go for a walk where there are other people around, you dont have to talk... then maybe after a few times smile and just say hello as you pass people (say it to older people if you feel judged... theyll more than likely say hello back)... then maybe go out with your neighbour, if its too much you can always say your not feeling too good and go home, but keep trying.

I'm depressed and anxious too... but don't get invited anywhere by anyone, I'd love to be.

But I know you find it hard... so just take it in small steps. And does anyone know how you feel? I'm sure your family will do everything they can to help you if you tell them.

Best wishes and good luck

(((PJ))). I am sorry that you are struggling at this time with the anxiety issues. A good therapist can help you move foreward and teach you some comforting things to do when you are in anxious surroundings or circumstances. Unfortunately, for most people that I have met with anxiety disorders, including myself, it has taken medication and therapy to overcome a lot of the burdens that anxiety can bring. There is also a chat at Psych Central, that can help in some instances, if you are not getting out and socializing enough, but nothing should take the place of needed professional therapy and help. Journaling has been helpful to many with anxiety, in allowing a freedom of expression emotionally. It is good to see you posting and trying to communicate with others, to seek the support you need at this time. I hope the best for you in the future and I h ope things get better for you soon. Take care (((PJ))). PM anytime. Soidhonia
