I started the ball rolling and I'm now in therapy after decades of depression and low self-esteem. Today I did my intake interview and I have an appointment in a few weeks with a psychiatrist. My therapist will call me this week to set up my first appointment.

This is something I should have done years ago, but better late than never, I guess. I'm optimistic about it.

I had my first appointment today with the actual therapist. I really liked her and I'm looking forward to working on myself with her guidance. According to her questionnaire, it seems I have moderate anxiety and severe depression, which pretty much gels with what I thought before I went in. She plans to do CBA therapy. As mental health care is an entirely new universe for me, I'm willing to go along with whatever she feels has a chance for success. Googling it, it looks like this is a pretty common form of therapy for chronically depressed adults. Any tips from anyone on what I should expect?
