This sounds like the steps I have to take to clean my room. I'll let you know how it went today. I'm in the 2nd step right now. I can't do it.

Yes, I did it!

I walked for an hour at the track with my parents even though I didn't want to.

I want to get clothes ironed, dishes washed and laundry put away. Right now I'm at the "I want to" step. Actually I don't want to. It's more a matter of need to.

Reached "Yes, I did it" in regards to studying and I never want to study again, but that's besides the point.

I'm currently at How Do I Do It in regards to reading the news for a half hour. Debating whether it'd be easier to read online or go buy a newspaper.

I'd go back to want rather than need. You need to eat, breathe, etc. but all else is optional If you did not, for whatever reason, want to do those chores, I doubt you would do them. Putting it as need sounds like someone/thing else is calling the shots.

When you're being run out of town, get in front and make it look like a parade!

I set some nice goals last night of what chores I "wanted" to do today but haven't done a one of them yet :-)

Sometimes, it's not about having to, it's about choosing to.

Choose to do something even if you don't feel like it/don't want to/too scared to/etc.

That's my advice to you. Don't have to. Choose to.
