uh well... for the past year ive sort of sank in n out of depression about three times..they lasted for a week or so, but after i'd be all happy n i'd think nothing was wrong. uh...yeah my folks dont no. only my closest frends do. and they've been throo the same. umm something has to set it off-like small things or big. the first two times i had depression i had a fight n loneliness was a factor. the last time (this time) uhh yeah i had a fight with my dad and yeah i found out he hated me. chi. um but yeah. i cant help but think im going crazy. like havin conversations in my head. like i can hear voices in my head if i tried. lol. weird i no. but yeah. just wondering if i actually am crazy. or what.

cheers

ub, I don't think you're crazy. But it does sound like you're struggling a bit. Is there a counselor or anything you can talk to?

hi useless bullets.. welcome to PC uh yeah depression hmm

struggling is how i see your predicament also... there's no mention of your age, but the assumption is young enough to have heavy peer and parent influence ...

its good you reached out here... friends and family can be great resources and still, its good to have others with less personal involvement to give objective viewpoints..

a counselor or doc is a good idea... a professional can set a baseline for you, give an idea of what the issues are and set realistic goals for yourself...

assuming you are in or near the teen ages, based only on the limited information available, you could get a jump statrt on whatever it is bugging you...

what is your past experience like? were there things or events that 'exposed' you to some hurtful situations? do you feel like those things have been resolved?

keep coming if it helps, at least its a place to vent...

i reckon it would be bullets... your doing the right thing, reaching out... isolation and depression can be painful...

'i was involved in a car crash n stuff.' ... familiar ... can be traumatic...

'ppl think i might have post stress thingo?' PTSD... post traumatic stress disorder...

Doc John has a forum for that... http://forums.psychcentral.com/postl...amp;Board=ptsd

some of the things you describe are situations close to my own experiences, so, i definately understand some of the ways you're feeling...

important now to believe it does get better.. the sooner you believe that, the better off you'll be...

then, get help, this way, in books, therapy if able, talk with friends.. dont bottle it up...

take care bullets...

The sooner you get therapy for the this the better. When depression goes untreated, it creates changes in your brain that make it easier to slip into the depressions for longer periods of time. (Kindling)

First step is to talk to your family. Get them involved. A good support system makes a big difference in management of this disease. If you had cancer would you try to ignore it or deal with it alone?
