So i joined a softball team, I was on it least season and its pretty much the same people, a great bunch of people (we all met by being put on the team) anyway, I missed the first two games, the first week i really didnt want to go as the time got close and last week i realy was sick. But i have a game tonight and now i really dont want to go again. I just dont feel like talking to anyone at all. i dont know what to do, i really need to go right? i get excited to do things but then as the time approaches I do not want to do ANYTHING. Its really bad and lately its worse. Anyway can someone help me, I am assuming I should really suck it up and go tonight.

I know how you feel, I'm like that too and I'm worried about something on Thursday.
If you really don't want to go you don't have to, o.k? Don't punish yourself if you don't. But try and think that it will benefit you... you may even get there and have a brilliant time and really enjoy yourself with everyone? I know I've done that many-a-time: really don't want to go somewhere even though I did earlier and ended up having panic attacks, but then if I go and enjoy myself, I think afterwards... wow! all that panicking for nothing.

If you do go... you'll have made a very positive step and it will be an achievment and something to be proud of.
If you don't go... it's nothing to be ashamed of or dissapointed by, it's just another thing to work on and you WILL get there.

((((Katie))))
Take care,
Molly

I am going to try super hard to get my butt there, I already said i would last week and I hate dissapointing over and over! arrrh. I know once I get there it will be a good time. Its just a matter of getting there i guess. Plus its not til 830 which unfortunately gives me more time to think about it.

that's the worst bit... when there's a long time before to think about it. It's not easy... but try and occupy yourself as much as you can to try and keep your mind from it because it's so easy for negative thoughts to overwhelm a person.
Try and stay positive... you can do this

And old sponser of mine...had more wisdom than I will achieve in 10 lifetimes....told me once...

"Trying is lying"...

I sat perplexed..

He said did you ever ask someone to do something or for instance stop by at some gathering? They said they would try.

I said yes..

He said they probably never showed..right?

Yep...

When someone says they will try means at the very least,,they are undecided but more than likely have decided no. They just don't know how to say no...People pleasing nonsense you know...(Even super hard...LOL)

Get your butt to the game and have a "ball"...

Have fun katie...

Wow Lenny...you know me well and what a great post... I guess I need to leave the word "try" out of my vocabulary because ultimately I am setting myself up for failure... Thanks for the post from a fellow housebound, antisocial person!

Soooo, inquiring minds (might) want to know. Did I go or did I not?
Well I ended up going and I am glad I did, it felt good to socialize and play some ball. I can honestly thank all of you for posting replies to my question. I might have wimped out and thought of yet another excuse if it was not for you.

THANK YOU!!!!!
